Final post for me.
The website site www.practical-tours.fr has been closed down. The guidebook is still available in Tours office de Tourisme and on amazon http://www.amazon.fr/Practical-Tours-Stephanie-Ouvrard/dp/2954452307
Tours is a fantastic place to visit and to stay. I hope you do enjoy it. I am to move by the end of the summer and is looking for some new projects.

In the category Touraine "art de vivre", yesterday was the perfect day. While some had decided to go on strike, my son (strike means no school) and I spend the day on the beach at l'île de la métairie. We took our bike to go there and a good half hour later, we were on a beautiful and quiet beach. I found a few pics on a tourangelle mom's website. Thanks Lali for the pictures
