Focus on one of the artists in the exhibition "Figures Alone" Brigitte Aubignac at Lee Ufan Arles

Born in 1957, Brigitte Aubignac is a painter and film-maker who questions the stereotypes of women in the history of art. Based on intimate and unspeakable scenes, she explores the taboos of contemporary society and the social issues surrounding madness and grief.

Included in these images is the work "Insomnie en gris", dating from 2016, in which the artist chooses to depict, in the tones given in the title, the solitude of a figure facing her broken sleep.

Lee Ufan Arles annonce le lancement de sa première exposition temporaire au sein de son établissement à l’espace MA.
L’exposition “Figures Seules”, sous le commissariat de Philippe Dagen, présentée du 1er juillet au 24 septembre 2023, réunit les œuvres de cinq artistes travaillant en France .aubignac , , Marc Desgrandchamps, Tim Eitel et , autour du thème de la figure humaine. Celle-ci présente seule, non pour des raisons formelles, mais parce que cette solitude renvoie à des situations aux significations sociales et psychiques qui caractérisent particulièrement notre époque.
