Happy World Environment Day. 💜🌍

Today, we’re sharing our 2025 Sustainability & Impact Overview. And while we’re proud of what we’ve achieved, what excites us most is what these numbers represent: millions of small decisions adding up to real change.

A few highlights:
→ Our upgraded planted.steak now delivers 96.7% less COz and 92% less freshwater use compared to conventional beef.
→ We opened Europe’s most modern production facility for bio-structured proteins in Memmingen.
→ Our products helped avoid more than 40,000 tonnes of
CO2 emissions and conserve 2.3 billion litres of water in 2025 alone.
→ From Michelin-starred kitchens to Subway, from Migros to Albert Heijn - we’re scaling impact where it matters most.
The fork remains one of the most powerful climate tools we have.

Educated choices are key 🧠💡Did you know that?

❌ “Natural” has no legal definition for meat products under EU food law. The term is only regulated for flavorings. Anyone can print it on any product. (EU Reg. 1169/2011, Annex VII Part D)

❌ “Free range” (for chicken meat) legally requires just 1 m² of outdoor space per bird — roughly the size of a bath mat. And birds only need access to the outdoors for half their lifetime. (EU Reg. 543/2008, Annex V(c))

❌ “Grass fed” has no EU-wide legal standard. It’s entirely self-certified — and can legally apply to animals that were grain-finished before slaughter. (No definition exists in EU Reg. 1169/2011 or EU Reg. 1308/2013)

Everyone knows someone who "only buys local meat". Yet more than 70% of meat in Europe comes from factory farming. The math really isn't mathing.

One of the classic “arguments” 🤡

Even if plants felt pain, eating animals requires far more plants 📈 livestock are fed massive amounts of crops. So eating plant-based actually kills fewer plants. 🌱

2,000 beagles. Brutal conditions. 💔🐶

A judge who agreed the law was being broken. And still, nothing changed for 10 years.

So ~ 1,000 people showed up. Police responded with rubber bullets and pepper spray.

We stand with the activists. We stand with the beagles. And we stand with every animal who has no one fighting for them. 🐾💜
