Year of the Horse: Fall Edition 🐎🍂

Year of the Horse heading into fall feels especially delicious: less summer gallop-for-the-sake-of-it, more knowing exactly where you’re going - and taking the reins en route.

Consider the current status somewhere between equestrian chic, collected confidence, and a little “catch me if you can.” 🐎✨🍁

Turns out, I wasn’t meant to stay in the stable.

Summer was for roaming - new places, beautiful tables, artful detours, a few unexpected turns and the occasional well, that was interesting!

Fall?
She’s got a different stride.

More discernment.
More direction.
More I know exactly what deserves my energy.

Still curious. Still collecting beauty. Still taking the scenic route whenever possible. But these days, I’m less interested in chasing anything… and much more interested in what naturally keeps pace.

A little Ralph Lauren western romance.
A little Parisian nonchalance.
A lot of Texas horsepower.

And perhaps that’s the natural flow of this particular season: momentum doesn’t always have to look like speed. Sometimes it’s simply knowing when to gallop, when to wander, when to change course - and when to enjoy the view.

Year of the Horse, indeed.
Reins firmly in hand. Eyes forward.

Lately, I’ve been collecting beautiful moments. ✨

Not waiting for the grand occasion. Not saving the dress, the reservation, the afternoon in the sun -or the good champagne- for “someday.”

Because I’ve decided someday looks rather good on me now. 🥂

A little summer love affair with my own city has taken me from downtown Dallas rooftops to neighborhood cafés, art-filled evenings and antique treasure hunts… proof that you don’t always need a plane ticket to feel transported.

☀️ Poolside at The Adolphus, where a ResortPass, a swimsuit, book and a little haute sunshine made downtown Dallas feel decidedly more Riviera.

💚 Dressing artfully in jade for *Into the Art World: Where Art + Community Meet* art talk at The Gallery at Bowie House, Auberge Collection an evening celebrating exactly what I love most: the extraordinary intersection of art, design, hospitality and community. Beautiful spaces become something more when art gives them a soul.

🐾 Then onward to Bishop Arts with my littlest design companion, Laurénne - sunshine, café walks, boutiques, a little antiquing and the very serious business of seeing what treasures might need to come home with us.

And finally, back to historic Grapevine, where the day ends in the simplest luxury of all: home, a Texas sunset, and the feeling that perhaps the magic wasn’t somewhere else after all.

I’ve always been a dreamer. But somewhere along the way, I learned the lovelier trick:

Don’t just dream about the beautiful life. Explore it. Wander into it. Dress for it. Make the reservation. Take yourself somewhere wonderful. Celebrate it while you’re living it.

Turns out, a beautiful life isn’t one grand moment.

It’s a collection of them.
