We are pleased to share that our founder, Can Eren, took part in the III. Hasat Zamanı Short Film Festival, organized by our strategic partner Istanbul Gelisim University.

Within the festival program, Can Eren delivered a talk titled “Film and Video Storytelling Curation,” focusing on narrative building, selection, and curation processes in film and video production. He also received a special award as part of the event.

We would like to thank Istanbul Gelisim University and the Hasat Zamanı Festival team for their kind invitation and warm hospitality.

We look forward to continuing and strengthening our collaboration in the future.

🇬🇧 EN / A new curator open call by Gülşah Elikbank is now live on CHEYNI.

Titled "Mythology and Fantasy," this call is an appeal to filmmakers who use mythology, legends, and fantastical elements. Bridging ancient lore with tomorrow’s digital horizons, it seeks films that add an original interpretation to folk narratives.

Short or feature-length films—including those created using artificial intelligence—are welcome. What matters most is having an original language and style.

Selected films will join the curator's next collection on CHEYNI.

Submission fee: Free

Criteria: Short & feature-length / AI films eligible

"Mythology and Fantasy" başlıklı bu çağrı; filmlerinde mitolojiden, efsanelerden ve fantastik ögelerden yararlanan sinemacılara sesleniyor. Antik mitoloji ile yarının dijital ufuklarını birleştiren seçki, halk anlatılarına kendi özgün yorumunu katan yapımları arıyor.

Kısa ve uzun metraj filmlerin yanı sıra yapay zekâ (AI) ile üretilen çalışmalar da başvurabilir. Önemli olan, filmin orijinal bir dile ve tarza sahip olmasıdır.

Seçilen filmler küratörün CHEYNI’deki bir sonraki seçkisinde yer alacaktır.

Titled "Transformation," this call approaches cinema not as content, but as a system of thought. Rather than a thematic compilation, it seeks short films that examine how transformation is constructed through cinematic language. We are looking for works where dramatic conflict is treated as a structural backbone, and where change is shaped through character, time, and space.

Fiction, documentary, experimental, and animation forms are welcome. The subject of the film is not what matters; what matters is how the narrative structure is built.

Selected films will join the curator's next collection on CHEYNI.

Submission fee: €10
Criteria: Short films only / Max. 20 min / Produced in 2020 or later

"Dönüşüm" başlıklı bu çağrı, sinemayı bir içerik değil, düşünce sistemi olarak ele alıyor. Tematik bir derlemeden ziyade, dönüşümün sinematik dille nasıl kurulduğunu inceleyen kısa filmleri arıyor. Dramatik çatışmanın bir olay örgüsünden ziyade yapısal bir iskelet olarak ele alındığı; değişimin karakter, zaman ve mekân üzerinden şekillendiği işleri bekliyoruz.

Kurmaca, belgesel, deneysel ve animasyon türündeki başvurulara açıktır. Bizim için filmin konusu değil, anlatı yapısının nasıl inşa edildiği önemlidir.

Seçilen filmler küratörün CHEYNI’deki bir sonraki seçkisinde yer alacaktır.

Focused on AI-supported cinema and emerging storytelling forms from Turkey, this open call looks for short films exploring new visual languages, hybrid narratives, digital culture, and experimental approaches to filmmaking.

Fiction, documentary, experimental, animation, and hybrid forms are welcome. AI-assisted and fully AI-generated works may apply.

Selected films will be featured on CHEYNI and presented through physical screenings and discussions in İzmir.

Submission fee: €6

Focused on experimental cinema and perception-based storytelling, this open call looks for films that challenge learned ways of seeing through image, rhythm, and cinematic form.

Short films, experimental works, video art, hybrid forms, and documentaries are welcome.

The open call will remain active until June 1, 2027. During this period, Emre Doğan may continuously review submissions and publish new curated selections on CHEYNI over time.

Submission is free.

This digital screening and curation program focuses on short films and documentaries from Türkiye — works that build a strong atmosphere, think through cinematic language and character, and reflect on contemporary Türkiye through personal, social, or spatial tensions.

There are no strict submission requirements.

Your work simply needs to be a short film or documentary.

Selected films will be featured as part of a curated collection on CHEYNI and gain international visibility through the platform.
