Yeah yeah. I know you are all looking at Kate. But take a second and look at Johnny’s jeans. They knew how jeans should fit back then.

It’s quite interesting having one of these scroll - screenshot - repeat sessions. You get this glimpse of where your heads at. At where your styles at. Kinda like an unintentional moodboard. Is it “automatic writing” where you just sit and write a steam of consciousness? Well, this is that for the IG addicted.

A nod to simpler times when selvedge denim was just denim and leg twist was an unfortunate defect.

Before anyone had heard of Will Smith or Tommy Lee Jones, there was the original “Man in Black”, Mr Johnny Cash. As a homage to this legendary country singer, Iron Heart named the black version of their Westen shirt “The Johnny Cash III”. And in true Cash form, (and unlike many black denim shirts out there) the black stays black. The 12oz selvedge denim has both a reactively dyed warp and weft meaning that the shirt will retain its deep black tone through wear and washing.

I was in Paris this past June and had time this go around to stop off at Brut Archives - one of my favourite vintage stores the world over. But this time, no vintage, it was instead filled with their own brand. They have been making their own clothing for a good long while now, based on vintage pieces from their archive or reworking classics like Barbour jackets. But I had no idea that this had blossomed into a full fledged in house brand. And just next door they opened their vintage store once again. In both shoes there’s and incredible selection of garments and it’s well worth a visit. But anyway. What’s with these pictures. Well, they have leaned heavy into their editorial, shooting friends and customers and this shoot just got me. I love everything about it from the styling to the photography style. To the Brut guys, you’re doing an incredible job. Keep going!

Ok here’s an idea, just hear me out. What if there was a spin off series/backstory prequel… whatever if Freddie Miles. By far my favourite character in The Talented Mr Ripley. I mean I’m not too sure if it was the character or FSH playing him, but either way it would be an amazing chance to explore anything from the Ivy League halls to the 50s New York elite scene to the high class side of Europe post war. Question is. Who’d play Freddie? Those are some big shoes to fill. Any ideas?
