AILLEURS:
THE OPENING OF A NEW GALLERY
The Singapore based gallery .art finally debuted in Paris with an exhibition entitled 'Ailleurs' (Somewhere else).
Four female artists are on show:
🌺 Armelle Kergall
🌼 Agnes Vandermarcq
🌸 Catherine Delmas Lett
🏵 Yupei Roehrich
The French artists spent some time in Asia, namely in Singapore and Japan. The Chinese artist came from Taiwan for art studies in Paris.
The title 'Ailleurs' (Somewhere else) underlines their common experience of another culture, another vision and other techniques.
The works of all four artists are deeply based on memory, collective and individual, retrospection and introspection, family stories and local histories.
In the feed the marvelous works of Agnes in tempera, ink and assemblages.

THE TASTE OF THINGS
I finally watched the movie The Taste of Things (2023).
It's a love story, of course. It's a very French story because it's a story of love... for cooking.
The movie is full of beautiful things - marvelous vegetables, still llife like scenes with any kind of food, fine plates and wonderful names of old vines.
The story is placed in the gorgeous frame of the most beautiful times - "la belle époque", France at the late 1880th.
Inspired by the delicious movie scenes I decided to share here my love to the French gastronomy and the "art de table". Because it's known : the food tastes delicious if it's nicely served...
The famous parisian restaurant Le Train Bleu at the Gare de Lyon railway station is an emblem of the combination of gastronomy show, interesting recipes and professional waiters.
The opening of this restaurant goes back to the "belle époque".

A PERFUME BOTTLE TELLS A STORY
In my childhood, at my grandmother’s house, I was fascinated by her perfume bottles.
To me, they became elegant ladies and gentlemen, hosting balls and dinner parties in a world of imagination.
Today, as I guide visitors through the exhibition LOUIS VUITTON. ART DECO, I still see the perfume flacons the same way.
Look closely — don’t these flacons resemble characters?
From simple containers to art objects… perfume bottles carry history, imagination, and identity.
In the early 20th century, French glassmakers collaborated with perfumers to create true works of art.
Each bottle was designed to capture attention, reflect elegance, and embody the spirit of the fragrance inside.
Did you know?
🔎 The word flacon comes from Latin flasco — “a bottle for wine"
🔎 Collectors of perfume bottles are called lecythiophiles
🔎 Some flacons can be worth up to several thousand euros
