Walking my dog this morning, some more of my sidewalk posts hats are gone. Hopefully, they end up in good hands and continue contributing joy.

Last year a friend of mine gave me a big bag of yarns. Her daughter had bought them for her application to an art school here in Paris. One of the components in the work sample for applying to the art school should include different types of yarns. She bought a lot but used very little of it, and what was left was given to me.
None of the yarns were the quality I'm used to working with. They were all very coarse, and most of them acrylic.
I decided to make my own arts project. I crocheted 31 small hats to put on the sidewalk posts in my neighborhood. Last night, walking my dog, my husband came along and helped me to put them out.
Some of them are already gone today, especially the ones close to , probably due to fashion week activities there last night. Hopefully, they have come in someone's hands as a fun souvenir from Paris.

It's done, a top or almost a tunic, depending on who will wear it. Made in cotton yarn together with a glittering metal effect thread, and it's very glittery when looking at it. It's too big for my mannequin, so the size is a medium.

A sleevless top, it lies on the wetted stretch now. The yarn was too coarse for it, but my initial idea didn't turn out....

One last touch to sew on the label. A slipover made with two different yarns, silk-mohair, fine marino wool, and an effect gold thread. Crocheted in a herringbone pattern. Very light and warm.

At last, some December light and I took out my camera to post my very last project for this year. A very furry, imaginative, and playful dress ready to wear.

It is finished and is now sitting on the mannequin. I'm waiting for better weather, more sunlight to take pictures of it in its entirety. Therefore, just small samples of the dress. And yes, that's what it is, a dress, for a festive occasion like New years Eve or some other party. It's quite furry, a bit crazy but still very wearable

Yarn delivery is just like ones birthday or Christmas Eve, except that you know the contents of the package. New projects waiting ahead

Sometimes, I regret my purchases.....
The quality looks so inviting and comfortable to wear. I listen more to my heart than I do to my experience. And here I am, working with a rather hopeless yarn, crocheting with it is similar to be skiing in heavy snowfall. I truly hope that the result will end up well..
