Here’s everything you can do to learn how to Sn**ch in 1 session.
has trained for years but recently wanted to learn the Olympic lifts as she’s starting her journey into the CrossFit world.
She came with all the mobility and strength you need so this was about learning the skill.
First I taught her how to overhead squat and receive the bar with speed with a sn**ch balance.
After that it was time to break down the hang sn**ch through high pulls and lots of reps with the empty bar before finally adding weight and progressing to the floor.
What’s really important to note here is that throughout the whole process there’s small wins coupled with small failures but from every missed rep or miss grooved rep you learn something for the next one.
Weightlifting is a skill and a skill that takes years to get right and in most cases, you never stop learning.

What did I miss?
There’s a lot of confusing information out there in the fitness space and it’s hard to know what you should follow and what you shouldn’t.
One coach says this is the way and the next coach will tell you the opposite. It’s no wonder why we all end up doing nothing through fear of getting it wrong.
I’ve personally tried everything. Tested it and made many mistakes but isn’t that part of learning? Sure we can read the peer reviewed study but we also have to make our own opinion.
A lot of training also works for you at a certain point and then your approach needs to change when you adapt. Coaching is about gathering evidence and finding different ways for different people. It’s never one size fits all.
My goal is to find out as much about you as I can and guide you along the way. Adapting and overcoming hurdles week to week to keep you making progress long term.

5 things I’d do if I was starting CrossFit (or any functional fitness program) again.
All of the points in these slides are mistakes I made and the same reasons I see many of you feeling stuck with;
How strong you feel
How fit you feel
How strong and fit you look
How sore or beat up your body feels
The problem isn’t the training style. The training style works, you just need an approach that suits you for where you currently are at 💡
Always reverting back to a power clean because you struggle to get under the bar for a squat clean?
This drill will help fix it
Aside from getting a bigger front squat learning where to catch the bar and how to catch the bar in the squat will improve your technique massively!
You’re leaving kilos on the table by not learning where to catch the squat clean.
Learning to meet the bar just at parallel will allow you to utilise the bounce of the squat.
Catch the bounce > easier stand from the bottom.

What a week for
He completed testing week last week and has some serious progress across his strength and running!!
We started the journey in November and he laid down some really solid foundations & habits.
From January we kicked things up a gear and the numbers speak for themselves!
