伊勢丹新宿店は、Invader の新たな個展 「Hyperspace」を開催いたします。
東京における開催は 2010 年以来となる本展では、象徴的なモザイク作品「エイリアス」から、「ルービックキュビスト」シリーズ、シルクスクリーン版画、ドローイングに至るまで、過去 16 年間にわたる Invader の創作活動のあらゆる側面をご紹介いたします。

現代アート界の重要な存在である Invader は、「ピクセルに物質性を与える」アーティストとして国際的に知られています。1998 年以来、彼は初期のテレビゲームやポップカルチャーのキャラクターに着想を得たセラミックモザイクで世界 180 以上の都市を“侵略（invade）”してきました。

Invader のモザイクを見つけることは、まるで世界各地で宝探しをしているような楽しさがあります。2014 年には、彼はスマートフォン向け無料アプリ「FlashInvaders」を開発し、
50 万人以上のプレイヤーと 4200 万件の発見成功を記録しています。

約30年にわたってInvaderはその活動を新たなメディアへと拡大しており、「ルービックキュビスト」シリーズ(2005年)をはじめ、インスタレーションや書籍・映像作品まで幅広い媒体を用いた作品を、世界中のギャラリーや美術館の展覧会で発表し続け高く評価されています。

Isetan is proud to present Hyperspace, the new solo show of Invader.
Being the first one in Tokyo since 2010, this exhibition will present every facets of the artist creations over the last sixteen years, from his iconic mosaic Aliases to Rubikcubistworks,silkscreened editions and drawings.

Prominent character of the Contemporary Art world, Invader is internationally known for giving materiality to pixels. Since 1998, the French artist has “invaded” more than 180 cities
around the world with his ceramic mosaics inspired by early videogames and characters from popular culture.

The discovery of a mosaic by Invader has become akin to an international treasure hunt. In 2014, he has created FlashInvaders, a free app for smartphone which counts more than 500,000 players and 42 millions of successful requests.

In a span of nearly thirty years, Invader has expanded his practice into new media, delving Rubikcubist series (2005), produced installations, books and films which he has shown in
acclaimed exhibitions in galleries and museums worldwide.

On this day in 1980, the Cure released Boys Don’t Cry album. I’ve always had a special fondness for it. Its pop melodies, brimming with teenage energy, foreshadow the post-punk / new wave era of the 80s and its magnificent cover illustrates one of the album’s songs, Fire in Cairo
