in 📍Chengdu

With its new "Huamei School" in Chengdu, HARMAY moves beyond the warehouse aesthetic that made it famous and embraces a more emotional, culturally rooted narrative. Designed as an “aesthetics classroom with no standard answers,” the space transforms shopping into a journey through collective memories.

From nostalgic classrooms and playgrounds to a canteen where visitors exchange “meal tickets” for lunch boxes and beauty samples, every detail blurs the line between retail, storytelling, and participation.

continues to grow, and I'd like to take a moment to better understand the community behind it.

As I do with my clients, I believe that the best way to move forward is to start with an audit.

I've created a short survey to learn more about who follows Retailoscope, the challenges you're facing, the topics that matter most to you, and how you perceive the content I share.

If you work in luxury, retail, customer experience, innovation, or digital transformation, your perspective would be particularly valuable.

The survey is fully closed-ended and takes less than 4 minutes to complete.

The objective is simple: to better understand this community and ensure that Retailoscope continues to provide relevant insights, meaningful analysis, and valuable content in the years ahead.

Thank you in advance for your time and feedback.

Nicolas

in 📍Great Wall

At the foot of the Great Wall, every breath became a bridge between past and present. lululemon’s “Yu Jian Great Wall” transformed a UNESCO heritage landmark into a space for reflection, movement, and community: honoring the foundations that shape both culture and self.

From sunrise yoga sessions among ancient stones to the illumination of the Wall at dusk, the experience celebrated the power of connection: body and mind, tradition and modernity, individual and collective.

For the seventh consecutive year, Golden Goose returns to Forte dei Marmi with a fresh transformation, turning its seasonal space into Frutteria Golden: a vibrant concept inspired by the charm of traditional Italian fruit markets.

Vintage awnings, wooden crates, handwritten signs, seasonal produce, and hands-on workshops create an immersive environment where retail becomes storytelling and shopping becomes an experience.

From the French Alps to the heart of Shanghai.

To celebrate its 200th anniversary, evian unveiled “Origin 1826 · Realm of Youth” at Zhangyuan, transforming this historic Shanghai landmark into an immersive journey inspired by the Alpine town of Évian-les-Bains.

Through five experiential zones, the brand translated two centuries of natural heritage into a contemporary lifestyle experience.

More than a celebration, the activation reflects how premium water brands are evolving beyond functionality to create emotional connections through culture, design, and immersive storytelling.
