During her studies, she had the opportunity to gain valuable experience abroad, spending four months in the United States, giving her the opportunity of working as an intern at the Virginia Beach Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court. She also gained professional experience in Paris, at different law firms like Gide Loyrette Nouel, as part of the arbitration team, and MVA, specializing in business law. In addition, she has been an active participant in various organizations and university activities, most recently having the honor of becoming a student member of the Société Française pour le Droit International (SFDI) and the student representative of the master’s program.

This gave her a deep-seated interest in international organizations as a tool for international cooperation and development. She feels a deep commitment to the improvement of society through the fight against poverty and contributing to the stability and prosperity of developing countries. She is therefore eager to pursue a professional career at an international organization in the field of economic development, such as the World Bank or the OECD.
She chose the Masters in International Administration in order to obtain the necessary legal skills to make important contributions to the work of international organizations. The strong participation of professionals among the teaching staff of the Master seemed essential to complement her theoretical background. She was also attracted by the Masters association, which for 10 years has been responsible for promoting solidarity between former and current students.

Student presentation - Aicha ABASSI, seeking an internship beginning in May 2022.
The Master's Degree in International Administration of Paris II Panthéon-Assas is proud to present its 2021-2022 students.
Aicha has an undergraduate degree in Public Law from Université Paris 2 Panthéon Assas. Concurrently with the last year of her undergraduate degree, as part of an international studies certificate, she wrote a thesis on the subject of migrants in the Mediterranean Sea, as it is a significant issue in the region. The research for this work piqued her interest and motivated her to do an internship in Terre d’Asile Tunisie, a non-governmental organization where she had the chance of directly assisting migrants and asylum seekers. This internship was an opportunity to understand the practical difficulties to implement international law and the importance of international organizations, as the work of Terre d’Asile Tunisie is clearly dependent on them.
As previously said, Aicha had the opportunity to be an intern in a Tunisian NGO specialized in asylum and migrants’ issues. She was in charge of researching and presenting legal information relevant to the subject of migration in the region, gathering and analyzing immigration data. She was also an intern for a French publishing house, as she is very attached to literature. It was an opportunity for her to broaden her horizons, to learn about the lusophone culture, and work among a team.
As a Tunisian, she lived through the Arab Spring of 2011 and witnessed firsthand the consequences on her country and the whole MENA region. The economic crisis that followed the revolution was, and still is, a crucial subject for the political stability of the country. The impact of the Libyan migrations was a clear example of the necessity of international law and international organizations. Along with those issues, growing up in a pluricultural environment influenced Aicha’s career choices.
Her goal is to become an international civil servant in an international organization specialized in asylum or immigration issues, or in anti-corruption. Because of the excellent training it provides, the International Administration Master was an obvious choice for Aicha. Through this program, she developed a solid knowledge of international organizations and international civil service law.
