Creator and film maker of countless timeless songs about freedom and patriotism - Gazi Mazharul Anwar passed away today. Paris Add FM deeply mourn the passing of this creative renowned personality.

Gazi Mazharul Anwar (22 February 1943 – 4 September 2022) was a Bangladeshi film director, producer, lyricist, screenwriter and music director. He earned the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Lyricist a record six times for the films Tit for Tat (1992), Ajante (1996), Churiwala (2001), Lal Dariya (2002), Kokhono Megh Kokhono Brishti (2003) and Meyeti Ekhon Kothay Jabe (2016). He worked as a lyricist in the "Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra". He was awarded Ekushey Padak in 2002 and Independence Day Award in 2021 by the government of Bangladesh.

Completed 5 year course in music from Chayanaut, Dhaka. 1963-68. Received lessons from Tagore exponents Wabeedul Haque and Sanjida Khatun. Specialized in songs of Tagore (Rabindra Sangeet) and Old Bengali Songs
(Purano Bangla Gaan). Attended Art Course at Byam Shaw School of Painting, London, UK. 1992.

(songs of Santosh Sengupta, Saila Devi, Kanan Devi, Dilip Kumar Roy...), 1950-60s (songs of Hemanta Mukhopaddhaya., Manobendra Mukhopaddhaya, Satinath Mukhopaddhaya...) and songs of Naznil Islam. Atul Prasad Sen,

Bhawaiya is a musical form or a popular folk music that originated in Northern Bengal, especially Rangpur Division in Bangladesh, Cooch Behar district of West Bengal, India and Undivided Goalpara district of Assam, India.
Bhawaiya artist, songwriter, composer and music producer of Bangladesh Betar (Radio) AKM Mostafizur Rahman Bhavaiya is the founder and executive director of Bhavaiya Angan, a national-based organization of the song education, conservation research on Bhawaiya. He has made numerous contributions to the practice and research of Bhawaiya in his more than 55 years colorful work-life.
Bhavaiya artist AKM Mostafizur Rahman has been awarded various terms for his special contribution to Bhawaiya songs. The number of his composed songs is about one and a half thousand. Born in Mithapukur in Rangpur, this well -known person is dedicated to Bhawaiya. Through his dedication Bhawaiya Bhavan has already been established at the New Engineer Para in Rangpur and Abbasuddin Mancho (Stage) is under construction, there are regular practices and research on Bhawaiya.
Paris Adda FM team visited his abode at Rangpur. He is present at our program today, with his spouse Salma Mostafiz, a well-known Bhawaiya Composer and Artist of Bangladesh Radio. We will listen about the popular folk music medium Bhawaiya in their own words.
