CELEBRATE THIS 14 JULY WITH FIREWORKS
Yes, it's a National holiday in France!
However, it might prove difficult to find fireworks celebrations this year.
Nice, Cannes and Antibes for example, have all decided to cancel their fireworks.
So, to avoid disappointment, here's a list of the villages near Nice where you can celebrate in the usual (and proper) manner...
Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat: Enjoy musical entertainment in the village from 7.30 pm and fireworks at 10.30 pm.
Saint-Martin Vésubie: There'll be music, dancing and parades earlier in the evening, but the fireworks will begin at 10:15 pm
Isola 2000 : The ball begins at 9pm, and the fireworks will be at approximately 10pm.
Enjoy! 😀

LOOKING FOR SOMETHING TO DO THIS SATURDAY IN NICE?
Here's a great idea you mightn't have thought of!
Tickets are still available for France vs Scotland at Nice's Allianz Riviera stadium this Saturday night. This is a "friendly" game helping the two national teams to prepare for the 2019 Rugby World Cup that will be held in Japan later this year.
The gates open at 7.30 pm, and the game starts at 9.05 pm. Spectators are advised to arrive early due to increased security measures at the entrance,
TrèsNice recommends taking public transport to the stadium. Both the bus and train services really are excellent and cost effective. You'll find the details in English here : https://www.allianz-riviera.fr/en/practical-information/access-transports
Tickets for the game can be purchased online : https://bit.ly/2OXutS4
And if you're looking for something to do before the match - or you'd like a few more up-to-date tips about interesting activities or great places to eat while you're here in Nice, come and join us on a walking tour of the Old Town. Places are available for our morning and afternoon tours on both Saturday and Sunday.
Please note booking is essential https://bit.ly/33CGUpN

ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE BIKE RACE IN NICE THIS WEEKEND
Nice will be hosting the final stages of the annual Paris - Nice bike race this Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 March.
You'll find the village in Place Masséna, and the riders will be signing in from 10:15am on Saturday. Stage 7 from Nice to Col de Turini will then officially begin at 11:25am.
As you'll see in the image below, Stage 8 gets underway at 1:45pm on Sunday, and is expected to finish around 5pm.
When you're not actually watching the riders live, you can follow the race on https://racecenter.paris-nice.fr/ #/stageprofile
Understandably there will be considerable interruptions to traffic and parking over the weekend. For general details you can visit the Ville de Nice website https://bit.ly/2TJn4Ih But in summary, if you're driving through Nice, you should favour Voie Pierre Mathis. And use the A8 to bypass Nice altogether.
Even if you're not planning on travelling by car, you should be aware that cycle paths along the waterfront will be closed.
And if you're taking the tram, you will have to get out and walk between Place Garibaldi and Place Masséna.
Ligne D'Azure has provided the following details about the race's impact on buses https://bit.ly/2Fel4P5
Have a great weekend!
