EN - On May 21st, at the invitation of the Cluster Yachting Monaco, Berret-Racoupeau Yacht Design was delighted to speak at the Spring Pop Up event held in the magnificent setting of the Club De Monaco . Our expertise, presented by Olivier Racoupeau, was particularly eagerly anticipated on the subject of the increasing size of boats in general and the rise of multihulls in the large yacht market. A subject at the heart of our business With over 35 years’ experience in the world of multihulls and three very large catamarans currently under construction atBaltic Yachts (Baltic 107), Air Yacht (Air 80) and Fountaine Pajot (FPY120). We were thus able to discuss with other industry figures present the specificities of the design of these large multihulls, from naval architecture to exterior styling and interior design.

🛠️ Inside the build of 33m Zeteo: Baltic Yachts first carbon

The 32.9-metre Baltic catamaran represents a new challenge for the Finnish shipyard known for its high-performance carbon monohulls.

SuperYacht Times visited the build in Jakobstad as the deck modules were still in the lamination phase, but outfitting of the hulls was already underway.

𝗧𝗛𝗥𝗘𝗘 𝗚𝗜𝗔𝗡𝗧 𝗖𝗔𝗧𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗔𝗡𝗦 𝗨𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗥 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗨𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡
For over 35 years, Berret-Racoupeau yacht Design has been designing large multihulls. Our international reputation in the superyacht market gives our teams the opportunity to work on increasingly ambitious projects. Today, 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗴𝗶𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝗺 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, each with her own distinct character. First, the 𝗔𝗶𝗿 𝟴𝟬, is due to be completed by late spring 2026. This catamaran has been designed with absolutely no compromises, both in terms of sailing performance and on-board luxury. The result is a very high-end multihull for ultra-fast long-range cruising. Meanwhile, in Finland, the highly renowned Baltic Yachts shipyard is currently assembling the all-carbon hulls of its very first multihull, the 𝗕𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝟭𝟬𝟳. A 33-metre catamaran that Berret Racoupeau Yacht Design has conceived as a long-range exploration yacht that is both highly elegant and high-performing in all conditions, with significant range thanks to a thorough environmental approach, taking into account both the impact of construction and the longer-term impact of use. The design challenge was met by the firm’s teams by combining sustainable solutions with cutting-edge technology. Finally, in late 2027, the largest of the Fountaine Pajot catamarans, the 𝗙𝗣𝗬𝟭𝟮𝟬, will be launched. As the flagship of the shipyard’s new Yachts division—for which we have designed all the sailing models and the largest powercats since 1991— Berret Racoupeau Yacht Design offers a new vision of the superyacht. At 35 metres in length and with 600m² spread across three levels of spaces that are at times vast, at times intimate, this catamaran opens up a world of possibilities beyond anything previously offered. With a luxury that is perfectly understated to suit both the present and the future, the FPY 120 and 120S are built to last. EN - One day to go until the opening of the International Multihull Show in La Grande Motte, France (22–26 April). Berret Racoupeau Yacht Design will, of course, be there alongside our long-standing partner, the Fountaine Pajot shipyard, which is exhibiting a selection of its range. A sailing range entirely designed by our agency and “almost entirely renewed in two years”, as the magazine Voiles & Voiliers recently highlighted. So at La Grande Motte, the brand-new FP41 and FP44 will be on display alongside the new-generation Aura 51 now named FP51. EN - Since its start over 35 years ago, 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 have always been at the heart of Berret-Racoupeau yacht Design𝘀. This philosophy, which led, for example, to the first pendulum keel on a 60-foot Open (IMOCA) for Isabelle Autissier in 1993, is naturally reflected in the multihulls. Whether it’s production catamarans, such as the entire Fountaine Pajot range—which has always stood out in this regard compared to its competitors—or 𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗸𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀, 𝘀𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝗻𝗷𝗼𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗺 𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗡𝗔 𝗼𝗳 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝘀. Baltic Yachts - Fountaine Pajot - Royal Huisman - 𝗔𝗶𝗿 𝗬𝗮𝗰𝗵𝘁

EN - In 1991, Berret-Racoupeau Yacht Design designed its first catamaran for the Fountaine Pajot shipyard, the Marquises 56. At 56ft/17 meters in length, it was the flagship of the range and conisdered as a large multihull on the market at the time. Since then, 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆’𝘀 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄-𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲 𝗺𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗵𝘂𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄 with the design of vessels such as the Heu Ship 185, the Royal Huisman 110 and 118, the Zeffiro 130 and 150 for Isa Yachts, the Jinlong Mega Yacht 110, La Sella Del Diavolo (90’), Wonderful, the Gunboat 72 (interior design) and more recently the Thira 80, again for Fountaine Pajot. Naval architecture, exterior styling, interior design—all these 𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝟳𝟮 𝘁𝗼 𝟭𝟴𝟱𝗳𝘁 (𝟮𝟮 𝘁𝗼 𝟱𝟲 𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀) meet technical requirements that are very different from those of production boats. Each multihull is a one-of-a-kind creation, conceived and defined down to the smallest detail to match the tastes and lifestyle of her owners. FR - En 1991, Berret-Racoupeau Yacht Design concevait pour la première fois un catamaran pour le chantier Fountaine Pajot, le Marquises 56. Les 35 années d'expérience de Berret Racoupeau Yacht Design en ce domaine sont uniques, et qui plus est holistiques car intégrant tous les métiers de la conception.
