A new 1/35 release is joining the DynaModels workshop: the Sherman Jumbo “Cologne 1945” Stowage Set.

Inspired by archival footage of a 76 mm Sherman Jumbo advancing through Cologne in 1945, this set brings together several of the vehicle’s most distinctive features:

• Rear rolled tarps with ration crates and jerrycans
• Turret bags with a captured Bavarian teapot
• Wooden side armour
• Covered .50 cal machine gun

The objective was to capture the character of the original vehicle while adapting the elements for resin printing and scale modelling.

Every part was designed in 3D, test-printed and fitted to my own Jumbo build.

This is the first release of the DynaModels Sherman Project 🔥🤘

A first look at the composition planned for my Panther Ausf. D R01 diorama.

At this stage, I’m testing the position of the tank and figures, as well as the overall balance and direction of the scene. The base will be textured, painted and fully integrated later.

The aim is to create a believable moment around the Panther, with each figure contributing to the story and guiding the eye through the composition.

What's on the build ?

This Panther Ausf. D R01 from the Stab Panzer-Brigade 10 is becoming one of my most detailed builds yet.

Based on Dragon’s 1/35 kit, the model has been extensively upgraded with DynaModels and Faustus Models 3D-printed parts, Voyager Model photo-etched details and Friulmodel metal tracks.

The construction is now almost complete. The next challenge will be turning this mix of grey plastic, brass and metal into an accurate representation of R01 as it appeared on the Eastern Front in 1943.

Which upgrade do you think makes the biggest difference to a build: photo-etch, metal tracks or 3D-printed parts?

One of the things I enjoy most about scale modelling is bringing real historical details back to life.

For this M3 Stuart, I wanted to recreate the improvised sandbag armor seen on period photographs. Instead of using generic shapes, I carefully studied historical references before recreating the sandbags in 3D, making sure they matched the original field modification as closely as possible.

I love combining historical research, 3D design and traditional modelling to create details that feel authentic on a finished build.

Have you ever added improvised armor to one of your own WWII models? 🔥🤘

I think I'm addicted to photo-etch... 😅

While the enamels and varnishes are drying on my M5A1 Stuart, I couldn't resist starting a new project: Dragon's Panther Ausf. D (Kit No. 6164).

I've always loved the early Panthers, and this kit seemed like the perfect candidate for some extra detailing. To push things a bit further, I'm adding a Voyager Model photo-etch set and, later on, some custom 3D-printed swing arms.

The goal isn't to build a large diorama this time. Instead, I want to focus on the vehicle itself and a small crew scene somewhere on the Eastern Front, letting the details of the tank take center stage.

The first photo-etch parts are now in place, and it's already amazing how a few brass components can completely transform certain areas of the model.

I'll be sharing regular progress updates as the project moves forward.

With modern kits becoming more detailed every year, is photo-etch still worth the extra time and effort, or has plastic molding reached a level where PE is no longer essential?

Sometimes, it’s the smallest details that make a scene feel real.

This piece is part of a larger diorama, but it quickly became one of the focal points.
