AGATA - Advanced GAmma Tracking Array

Partager

AGATA (Advanced Gamma Tracking Array) is a research and development project with the aim of building a 4π gamma-ray spectrometer of the next generation.

It will be used in experiments utilizing both intense stable and radioactive heavy-ion beams, to study the structure of atomic nuclei as a function of angular momentum, isospin, and temperature at the limits of their stability. AGATA is based on the principle of gamma-ray tracking, which is made possible by the advent of segmented high-purity germanium crystals, advanced digital electronics, and p

a new magic number... or not...

The Calcium-52 isotope might have just lost its 'magic' status In nuclear physics, certain elements or their isotopes can be classified as 'magic', based on a specific magic number of protons or neutrons found in their atomic nuclei. The seven most widely recognised magic numbers are 2, 8, 20, 28, 50, 82, and...

16th AGATA Week (22-24 September 2015) 27/07/2015

Registration announcement for the 16th AGATA Week
IFIC-University of Valencia, 22th – 24th September 2015

Dear AGATA collaborator,

This message is to announce the opening of the registration
for the next AGATA week which will be
held at the IFIC-University of Valencia, Spain,
from Tuesday 22th to Thursday 24th September 2015.

The meeting is being organized by the IFIC, the ETSE-University of Valencia
and all the Spanish AGATA community.

The 16th AGATA week registration page, can be found at:

http://indico.ific.uv.es/indico/event/valencia16aw

Please register at your earliest convenience to help us organizing the
event.

The web page includes as well a list of Hotel for helping to book your
accommodation, nevertheless, Valencia is not a large city and,
in case you are interested, we also recommend to book any hotel in
the centre through http://www.booking.com or http://www.tripadvisor.com/ .

On this occasion we are planning to have a dinner altogether. Unfortunately the dinner cannot be sponsored, each participant will have to pay his/her dinner. We will
circulate more details latter.

The preliminary general programme attached, include reports and
the regular working group as well as team meetings.

A more detailed programme will be circulated latter.

Please forward this message to your colleagues interested in the event
that might not be in the AGATA mailing list.

Looking forward to seeing you at the AGATA week,
Best regards

The AMB and the Local Organizers

16th AGATA Week (22-24 September 2015) The program will include the review of the status of the AGATA project and the resource management report. There will be regular working group and team meetings. Reports on the operation of AGATA with the status of the ongoing GANIL campaign, results of the physics campaigns at GSI and LNL, and plan…
