ACT is an artivism group, using creative arts to advocate on social issues and promoting the use of art for advocacy. It will serve as a tool to spark creativity, give its members the opportunity to facilitate and advocate on social issues. Across Fiji and the Pacific, too many women and girls still face shame, stigma, stress, and lack of access to safe period products and information. These challenges don’t just affect physical health, they impact confidence, education, work, and emotional well-being too.
🩸 Period poverty can lead to anxiety, isolation, and missed opportunities.
💭 Hormonal changes and stigma can affect mood, self-esteem, and mental wellness.
🤝 Open conversations, support systems, and access to care can change lives.
It’s time to create Pacific communities where every person can manage their period with dignity, support, and pride.

Every month (on average) women go through their period. Many have so many underlying issues that cause them grave problems and they are expected to simply ‘get by’
Medical/Health systems need to do better to help women through periods and the varying issues with it. Policies need to ensure that period poverty/ period dignity/ period leave are all accounted for.
Just calling us ‘strong’ and ‘resilient’ doesn’t cut it!!!
