A second team of Taskforce Kiwi volunteers has departed New Zealand and is on route to Nepal to undertake flood relief alongside our local partner, NCV -Noble Compassionate Volunteer Group.
The flooding in Nepal has passed, but for those impacted the work is only just beginning. Our team is heading back to Nuwakot District to build on the work of our first team, continuing to support communities affected by the floods.
The rebuild and recovery is going to take time, and Taskforce Kiwi intends on supporting those impacted for as long as possible. It’s the support from home helps us keep our people on the ground and doing the work.
If you’d like to support our Nepal flood relief efforts, donations can be made in two ways.

Our first rotation of Taskforce Kiwi volunteers are preparing to leave Battar and return home to New Zealand.
Their last few days have been focused on ensuring conditions for survivors are improved by undertaking water, drainage and sanitation works for camps and health centres. A key aspect of this team's work has been supporting our local partner, NGO NCV -Noble Compassionate Volunteer Group. Team lead Steph Rotarangi says being part of a local team has been very humbling and has provided TFK an opportunity to work with and for locals, many of whom have been personally affected by this disaster.
A second team is currently preparing to depart New Zealand, thanks to the ongoing support of Airlink, to continue their work in Nuwakot.
Looks like we've also picked up a few volunteers along the way!
If you’d like to support the work our team is doing in Nepal, you can donate through our Givealittle page. Every bit helps us continue supporting communities affected by the floods. https://givealittle.co.nz/cause/taskforce-kiwi-nepal-flood-relief

Join the Annapurna Community Group on Sunday 4 October in Tauranga for a Nepal Flood Relief fundraising dinner, supporting both impacted communities and our work on the ground.
The fundraising dinner is happening on Sunday 4 October at Greerton Hall, Tauranga, with 50% of proceeds going directly towards emergency relief through Taskforce Kiwi and the remaining 50% to the Government of Nepal’s PMO Disaster Relief Fund for longer-term recovery.
Our team is currently on the ground in Nepal, working alongside local organisations to support people affected by the floods, and we’re incredibly grateful for the support from communities here in Aotearoa.
If you’re in Tauranga, please get along, support the fundraiser and help spread the word.
A big thanks to Annapurna Community Group Inc., Tauranga Phalaicha, DANPHE CRICKET CLUB - BOP, Tauranga and Western Bay Indian Association, Nepalese Warriors Football Club, Tauranga Telugu Community BOP
Full details and ticket information are on the poster below. ❤️
The team has been busy on the ground, helping set up a displaced persons camp and working alongside our local partners to get things up and running for people affected by the floods.
In this video, they talk us through what they’ve been doing and what’s happening on the ground.
The work will continue over the coming weeks as we look to deploy further rotations of volunteers, and support is still needed to help the team keep doing what they’re there to do.
If you’d like to support the Nepal response, you can donate through our Givealittle page here: https://givealittle.co.nz/cause/taskforce-kiwi-nepal-flood-relief

A big thank you to the team at Caifewhai, Musical Mangawhai and the local musicians who are putting on a fundraiser for our Nepal response this Saturday.
If you’re in Mangawhai, head along this Saturday 26th September for a morning of live music and good people getting behind the team in Nepal.
Our team is still working in Nepal and the response is ongoing, so support like this is hugely appreciated.
Thanks to everyone involved in putting this together and giving their time to support the work we’re doing on the ground.
If you’re nearby, go along, have a coffee, listen to some music and throw a koha in the bucket. It all helps.

A huge thank you to Airlink and Malaysia Airlines for enabling our ongoing Nepal flood relief efforts.
Their support allowed our team to get from New Zealand to Kathmandu at short notice and join our partners NCV on the ground, and we simply couldn’t do our work without it.
Taskforce Kiwi is fortunate to be one of many NGOs that Airlink is supporting and working alongside during the ongoing flood response efforts in Nepal, ensuring that skilled support and aid get to those who need it. At the same time their team is continuing to enable other responses around the world, including in Venezuela, Colombia, DRC, Sudan and the US, amongst others.
Getting people with the right skills into disaster-affected areas is a significant challenge, so having Airlink’s support is invaluable, and it ensures we can get our team where they need to be, working in partnership with NCV and local communities to support those impacted.
Ngā mihi Airlink and Malaysian Airlines!

Our team has been busy making improvements at Pipaltar camp.
The camp is now home to survivors from Rasuwa and Nuwakot, and despite everything they have been through, many have volunteered their time to help Taskforce Kiwi and our partners, NCV, with the work here.
They have even been helping us improve other camps supporting survivors in the area. Their willingness to get involved and help others, while dealing with their own circumstances, has been pretty incredible to see.
If you’d like to support the work our team and NCV are carrying out in Nepal, you can donate through our Givealittle page - https://givealittle.co.nz/cause/taskforce-kiwi-nepal-flood-relief
