Building Skills, Strengthening Leadership.

We spend the time mentoring and training our Cagimaiwai Women's Cooperative Secretary on basic computer skills, including typing and formatting documents in Microsoft Word, as well as learning the fundamentals of using Microsoft Excel for record keeping, data entry, and cooperative administration.

As we continue to strengthen the capacity of our women's cooperative, digital literacy is becoming an important tool for effective management, communication, reporting, and financial accountability. Investing in skills development empowers our women leaders to confidently carry out their roles and contribute to the sustainable growth of our cooperative and community.

One step at a time, we are building a stronger, more resilient, and self-reliant Cagimaiwai Women's Cooperative.

Vinaka WWF Pacific for the support.

SUPPORT THE DRUADRUA DISTRICT SCHOOL HOSTEL RENOVATION DRIVE

The Yanuyanu I Avewa Development Committee proudly supports the $100 Soli Per Parent Fundraising Drive aimed at renovating and upgrading the Druadrua District School Hostel.

The photos shared highlight the urgent need for improvements to the hostel facilities that accommodate many of our children who travel from home to access education. Every child deserves a safe, clean, comfortable, and dignified place to live while pursuing their education.

We humbly call upon parents, former students, families, friends, and supporters of Druadrua District School to contribute towards this important initiative.

💙 $100 Soli Per Parent
💙 Every contribution counts
💙 Together we can create a safer and better learning environment for our children

Education is a shared responsibility. Let us come together as one community to invest in the future of our children.

Vina'a va'alevu for your support and generosity.

🌿 Happy World Environment Day 2026 🌿

Today, we celebrate our shared responsibility to protect and restore the environment that sustains us.

Mangroves are more than just trees—they protect our shorelines from erosion, provide habitats for marine life, store carbon, and help strengthen the resilience of our island communities against climate change.

As Indigenous women of Kavewa Island, we recognize that caring for nature is caring for our people, our culture, and the generations yet to come.

Through community action and traditional stewardship, we continue to play our part in safeguarding our environment.

Let us all be inspired to plant, protect, and preserve our natural resources for a greener and more resilient future.

🌱 "The best time to plant a tree was yesterday. The next best time is today."

Learning about our traditional protocols and cultural values.

Our youths of Kavewa continue to strengthen their understanding of our customs, traditions, and the importance of respecting the ways of our ancestors.

By preserving and practicing these protocols, we ensure that our identity, heritage, and cultural knowledge are passed on to future generations.

"Na noda i tovo ei na noda i vakarau va'avanua e noda iyau talei me maroroi ka vakadewata'i jio."

COMMUNITY FUNDRAISING ANNOUNCEMENT

As part of our IVDP, we will be holding a special fundraiser this Friday, 29/05/26, to support the rebuilding of our Church. Its our place of worship, hope, and unity for our people and will also serve as our community Evacuation Centre during times of disaster and hardship.

💲 Contribution: $500 per dua na vawati (couple) and youths
🍽 Lunch will be provided

Today, our congregation continues to gather faithfully at the Community Hall because our old church building has been condemned and can no longer safely hold services. Although the building still stands, it now serves another important purpose for our village through rainwater collection.

For many of us, this church is more than just a building. It is where we pray together, celebrate together, mourn together, and find strength together during difficult times. It is part of our identity, our faith, and our future.

We humbly invite everyone — families, friends, youths, and supporters near and far — to join us and support this meaningful cause. Every contribution big or small , every presence, and every prayer will help us move one step closer to rebuilding a safe place for worship and shelter for generations to come. ❤️

Vinaka vakalevu and God bless. 🙏🏽

She joins delegates from 189 countries, coming together to advance gender equality and women’s empowerment on a global stage. Tomorrow, she will take part in a panel discussion, contributing our voices, experiences, and priorities to this important international dialogue.

We would like to acknowledge and thank DIVA Equality for the support that enabled us to be at this prestigious event.

Our signatories have officially submitted all required documents for the opening of the Cagimaiwai Women’s Cooperative Account — a powerful step forward for our collective future.

This journey was not an easy one. It meant our women stepping away from their homes, their families, and daily responsibilities to travel and spend the night in Labasa, all in pursuit of progress and empowerment. That sacrifice speaks volumes about their commitment, strength, and vision.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the men who stood in support — holding the home together, caring for families, and ensuring everything remained in place while our women carried this responsibility. This is what true partnership and community look like.

Together, we are building more than an account — we are building resilience, independence, and a stronger future for Cagimaiwai and Kavewa Community.

Vina'a va'alevu to the staff at BSP Labasa Staff anf Macuata Provincial Council Office for their support .
Vinaa valevu viroga to the Wereivalu family in accommodating our women.
