Our May newsletter is out, and what a month to wrap up.
We took on our 100 Ads in a Day challenge, building 100 playable ads in just 7.5 hours with PlayablesAI. Pro bono for two Finnish charities, SOS-LapsikylÀ and Sekasin Kollektiivi, supporting children, young people, and mental wellbeing.
Our CEO Elina Arponen also released her first book, My Startup Diary, with honest lessons from her first startup journey.
A small personal note: after writing these newsletters and being in charge of the comms for years, Karo is now heading off on đ¶ leave, with Sanna taking over our future editions and comms!

Promotion & Launch of the Year! đ€
Our collaboration with Tuska Festival and Hautaustoimisto Mikko Mononen Oy has won Promotion & Launch of the Year at Avecâs Evento Awards 2026, where Finlandâs best events, visual executions, promotions, and venues are recognized.
This marks the 4th award for this project so far!!
At Tuska, we helped bring to life a unique activation where festival visitors could design their own funeral using our interactive playables.ai technology, turning a traditionally sensitive topic into something people could actively engage with and share.
This project shows how bold ideas combined with interactivity can push boundaries and create real impact. Interactive experiences donât limit themselves: They can scale into environments like festivals and reach thousands of people in meaningful ways.

Funding. Awards. GDC. New 3D playables. đ„
We closed a new funding round with HyperScope Ventures to power the next phase of playables.ai, picked up two SPOT Awards with our Tuska x Mononen collaboration (next stop: ESA Awards in London), and spent a week at GDC talking AI, ads, and everything in between.
Oh, and we also dropped a new 3D playable for Kuuasemaâs Cthulhu Keeper, where stealth and timing are put to the test.

GDC done and dusted! đ€
A couple of weeks ago, our CPO Ville-Kalle saw and conquered San Francisco and GDC. As always, the week was packed with fascinating talks, memorable side events, and some wow-worthy meetings.
Here are VKâs main takeaways:
đź âGDC is usually packed with Nordic games people, especially Finns, but this year there were definitely fewer Finns around. The expo itself felt smaller compared to previous years, but there were still high-value meetings.â
đš âMarriott Marquis worked really well for meetings, definitely recommend.â
đ âItâs a good idea to invest in company merch and clothing for events like these. If your brand is clearly visible (especially on the back of your shirt), youâre basically a walking business card. People come talk to you much more easily.â
đ§ âYou donât always need a âŹ10K+ booth. I attended the Games + AI meetup where I had my own mini booth. If you have a strong and compelling idea, great demos, and good introductions, all you really need is a table, something with your brand on it, and a device to show your product.
Throughout the meetup, people were lining up at the Playables.ai mini booth and there were very few seconds of quiet time⊠good for business, not so good for the bladder đâ

Our CEO Elina kicked things off at Gamesforum in beautiful Barcelona, then headed to Stockholm to join Ville-Kalle and Timo at TechArena.
As always, the meetings, conversations, and overall vibe were amazing.
