Lauri Myllylä leaves Voidfallen after 6 years.

Lauri (the bassist edition and one of the original members) has decided to leave the band. For once we can say with hand on the heart that there is no drama included, 6 years is a long time, and a lot of things can change. That is the case now, too, as balancing between private life and the needs of the band were too great. If anything, Lauri has always stood tall and with integrity with what he does, and we have the utmost respect for him as he shifts his priorities where they are more needed and belong.

We’ve shared accomplishments, hardship, the good times and the bad together, long days on the road and in the studio, the whole experience. His personality and energy have been a part of our lives for a long time not to even speak of the stage presence, and his departure is going to leave a void, which we will not fill as of now. Voidfallen will be 4-piece band until further notice.

For us this isn’t a goodbye as we will stay friends, we just won’t create art together anymore, but you all go and give him a big round of applause in the comments for the last time!

Words from Lauri:

"Hi!

I have a little something to tell you. I have decided to leave the band Voidfallen. It is completely my own decision and there is no nonsense involved. The guys themselves are such top guys and iron professionals that it made this harder for me.

All the biggest personal things and changes have happened in my life while I was in this band. It is appropriate to stop sometimes to think about how many resources there are, how to use them and I have started to weigh up how much this inspires me right now at this point. Sometimes it is good to let go of something, you don't need to and shouldn't hold on to everything all the time. We released a new album at the beginning of the year and after playing the album release gigs, I felt that now is a good time to reset my shoulders.

It has been a great honor to be in the band from the beginning, since 2019 and to make two full-length albums and great gigs. I am forever grateful to the band members Tommi, Henkka, Latte, Mika and former guitarist Allu for these experiences!

Finally, a massive thank you to all the people who have supported Voidfallen's music and continue to support it, have been to the shows and will be in the future! The best part about all of this is that music and art are eternal. THANK YOU!
