DTM:n taustayhtiö Äkä Oy on hakeutunut konkurssiin ja DTM sulkee ovensa. Haluamme kiittää kaikkia asiakkaitamme, henkilökuntaamme ja esiintyjiä vuosien varrelta.

Nykyisen DTM:n taru alkoi vuonna 2012, kun ravintolan vanha taustayhtiö joutui talousvaikeuksiin ja liiketoiminta myytiin Äkä Oy:lle, joka avasi DTM:n Mannerheimintiellä. Halusimme jatkaa DTM:n tarinaa. Saimmekin pyörittää yökerhoa Manskulla vuoteen 2020 saakka, jolloin sekä koronarajoitukset että naapuriin avatun hotellin valitukset melusta pakottivat sulkemaan paikan. Etsimme pitkään uutta tilaa ja avasimme vihdoin syksyllä 2023 nykyisissä tiloissamme Teurastamolla.

Kun aloitimme, olimme auki viikon jokaisena iltana. Yökerhossa käynti on kuitenkin vähentynyt jatkuvasti ja jouduimme supistamaan aukioloaikojamme siten, että lopulta olimme auki vain perjantaisin ja lauantaisin.

Pysyimme pitkään kannattavana, m***a uuden tilamme rakentaminen tyhjään varastotilaan tuli koronan aiheuttaman inflaation ja rakennusaikaisten ongelmien takia paljon suunniteltua kalliimmaksi. Teimme ensimmäisenä vuotenamme Teurastamolla 160 000 euron tappion, eikä tilanne ole kuluvalla tilikaudella kääntynyt paremmaksi.
DTM:ää sanotaan usein instituutioksi tai ja tärkeäksi turvasatamaksi seksuaali- ja sukupuolivähemmistöille. Tämä on ollut tärkeää myös meille. On kuitenkin selvää, että ihmiset tapaavat nykyään toisiaan paljolti muualla kuin homobaarissa. DTM on kuitenkin tavallinen yökerhoyritys, joka elää pääsylipputuloilla ja juomien myynnillä. Kun näitä ei ole tarpeeksi, ei toimintaa voi jatkaa.

Kiitos vielä kerran kaikille mahtavista bileistä! DTM:n taru päättyy ainakin toistaiseksi tähän. Toivottavasti löytyy uudet yrittäjät jatkamaan DTM:n toimintaa tai luomaan jotain aivan uutta Helsingin yöelämään. Celebrate yourself!
