After a long break, I'm finally releasing new music. Bloom will be out 20 December.

The new release will mark a bit of a shift from melodic techno towards progressive house. But it also pays homage to classic disco and has a strong retro vibe (just like me 🤣).

Following the release of Beacon in early April, I felt a strong pressure to keep producing and releasing more and more new stuff. Although I didn't feel the slightest bit inspired, I forced myself to work on new tracks. The result was three unfinished tracks with no ideas, a lot of self-loathing and a gigantic inferiority complex. More importantly, producing was longer fun.

After two months of trying, I finally gave myself a permission to stop. I set all music-related stuff aside for a few months, and it really was a wise decision. And voilà, ideas and inspiration began returning in October. Bloom is the result of that mini-journey into human psyche.

Beacon now has over 11,000 streams on Spotify. I'm so grateful to everyone who has listened to it. Thank you! 🙏

In the meantime, I'm working on a new track. It's kind of a tribute to Italo disco, so it sounds a bit retro and it's certainly more EDM in vibe than any of my previous releases. Not exactly sure how I feel about that, but let's see what the final result will be like.

Thank you for 2023 and wishing you well in 2024!

The past year truly marked the birth of ALCE as an artistic project. I finished up my audio engineering and music production courses (at least for now), released my first tracks in July, learned a lot about music production & promoting your own music, released one more track in October and started curating my own Spotify playlist. A couple of months back I realized that if I ever want someone to play my music somehere, that someone will probably have to be me. So I'm now making an effort in expanding into DJing.

In 2024, I'm planning to release more music. I'm currently working on a new track that will probably be release ready during the first quarter of the year. I'm also really interested in filming DJ sets for Youtube, and already have a couple ideas for ultracool locations where to shoot them. 2024 will be big!
