Due to the new audience restrictions the remaining Hybrid Forms gigs are, unfortunately, cancelled. We will welcome Aili Ikonen + Antti Kujanpää and Katu Kaiku back to play during our next series, whenever it’s feasible. We wish all those who will have lost work as a result of the recent restrictions all the very best. Our thanks go to Maija Kauhanen and Aili Järvelä for their wonderful performances, and to all those who came out to our first two gigs. We hope to see you all soon in the not too distant future!

Hybrid Forms continues tonight at 19.00 with Aili Järvelä! Tonight's gig will be inside Tislaamo - Distillery Bar due to the weather, and the venue will reach capacity so come early to avoid dissapointment! Hybrid Forms at Tislaamo got started with a bang on Saturday. Thanks to all who came down. We continue this coming Saturday with the brilliant Aili Järvelä - Immersed in folk music since childhood, the winding path of Aili Järvelä has also been guided by various genres. Hailing from Kaustinen, Järvelä is known not only as a singer, but also as a songwriter, composer, arranger, violinist, producer, a pedagogue, and as a freelance musician in many different groups and ensembles. A powerfully expressive voice, deep-rooted kantele and inventive percussion: fleet-fingered virtuoso and one-woman band Maija Kauhanen specializes in Finnish Saarijärvi kantele and the old and rare technique of playing kantele using a tiny wooden stick as a plectrum. Weaving this together with poly-rhythms and organic beats, she creates unique soundscapes and compelling grooves. This coming Saturday 31st July Tislaamo - Distillery Bar! Free entry!
