በጂንካ ከተማ ተከስቶ የነበረዉን የማርበርግ ቫይረስ ለመቆጣጠር አክሽን ፎር ዴቨሎፕመንት ላበረከተዉ ከፍተኛ አስተዋፅኦ ከደቡብ ኢትዮጲያ ክልላዊ መንግስት የምስጋና ሰርተፊኬት ተሰጥቶታል፡፡

አክሽን ፎር ዴቨሎፕመንት በጂንካ ከተማ ተከስቶ የነበረዉን የማርበርግ ቫይረስ ለመግታት የአስቸኳይ ጊዜ ድጋፍ በመጀመር የንፅህና መጠበቂያ ቁሳቁሶችን፣ መድሀኒቶችን፣ የህክምና መሳሪያዎችን፣ ለህክምና ባለሙያዎች የሚሆኑ አልባሳት፣ እንዲሁም በትምህርት ቤቶች ዉሀ በማቅረብና መታጠቢያዎችን (water facility) በማዘጋጀት አስተዋፅኦ አድርጓል፡፡

ኢትዮጲያ የማርበርግ ቫይረስን በቁጥጥር ስር ማዋሏን የጤና ሚኒስትር ጥር 18/2018 ዓ.ም ይፋ ማድረጉ ይታወሳል፡፡

Action For Development received a certificate of appreciation from the Southern Ethiopia Regional Government in recognition of its contribution to the Marburg virus disease response.

By launching an emergency response to halt the virus in Jinka, Action For Development contributed by providing hygiene supplies, medicines, medical equipment, apparel for medical professionals, as well as supplying water and setting water facilities in schools.

It is recalled that the Ministry of Health announced on January 18, 2018 (E.C.), that Ethiopia has brought the Marburg virus under control.

‘’እጅግ በከፋ ችግር ዉስጥ ነበርን፡፡ የበጋና የበልጉን ፀሀይ ማንም ያዉቀዋል፡፡ ዉሀ ፍለጋ ሩቅ ተጉዘን ስንመለስ ግማሽ ቀን ያልፋል፡፡ ከዚያ ዉሀ ቀድታ የምትመጣ እናት በጣም ትደክማለች፡፡ በዚህ ሁሉ ድካም ላይ የቤት ዉስጥ ሀላፊነቷ ይጠብቃታል፡፡ ዉሀ የምንቀዳበት ቦታ ለእንሰሳት ንክኪ የተጋለጠ ነበር፡፡ በዚህ ምክኒያት በተደጋጋሚ በተቅማጥ እንያዝ ነበር፡፡ አሁን ግን በቅርባችን በተሰራልን ንፁህ ዉሀ በተለይ እኛ ሴቶችን ከነዚህ ሁሉ ችግሮች ነዉ የገላገለን፡፡ በጠራራ ፀሀይ ለግማሽ ቀን ዉሀ ፍለጋ መጓዝ ቀርቷል፡፡ ለቤት ዉስጥ ሀላፊነታችን በቂ ጊዜ አጊንተናል፡፡ ከዉሀወለድ በሽታዎችም አሁን እፎይታ አጊንተናል፡፡ ‘’
“We were in a very difficult situation. Everyone knows how the burning sun feels during the dry season. We used to trudge so far for water that half the day would be gone. By the time we got back, we were exhausted-yet the housework was still waiting. The water source we used was open to animals, so we were always sick. But now, the clean water built by AFD near our home has saved us women. We no longer spend half a day in the heat. We have time for our homes, and we are relieved of water-borne diseases."

የምስራቅ ቦረና ነዋሪ የሆነችዉ ደርሚ ዱባ ኑሮዋ እንደሌላዉ የማህበረሰብ ክፍል በአከባቢዉ በነበረዉ የአደጋ ተጋላጭነት ተፅዕኖ ስር የቆየ ነበር፡፡ የቤተሰቧን መሰረታዊ ፍላጎት ማሟላት የዕለት ተዕለት ፈተናዋ ሆኖ ቆይቷል፡፡ ታድያ ኤኤፍዲ በምስራቅ ቦረና ዞን ከመሰረታቸዉ 60 የቁጠባና ብድር ማህበራት መካከል የዋሌንሱ ቁጠባና ብድር ማህበር አባል ሆና በመቆጠብ በተለያዩ ዙሮች ባገኘችዉ የቢዝነስ ስልጠናና ብድር በመታገዝ አነስተኛ ንግድ ጀመረች፡፡ በቁጭትና ጥረት የታጀበዉ የንግድ ስራዋ እጅግ የተሻለ መኖሪያ ቤት መገንባት ያስቻላት ሲሆን፡ የቤተሰቧንም መሰረታዊ ፍላጎቶች ለማሟላት የነበረባት ትግል መቅረቱን “ከተጋላጭነት የተላቀቀ ህይወት ገንብቻለሁ” ስትል ገልፃለች፡፡ ለአከባቢዋ ህያዉ ምስክር የሆነ የአሸናፊነትን ታሪክም በስራዋ ፅፋለች፡፡

Dermi Duba lives in East Borena. For a long time, her life—like many others in her community—was really tough because of the frequent disasters in the area. Just meeting her family’s basic needs was a daily struggle. Everything changed when she joined the Walensu Saving and Credit Association, one of the 60 groups started by AFD in the zone. By saving her money and taking part in several business trainings and loans, she was able to start her own small business. Her hard work and deep drive to change her life helped her build a much better house. She no longer struggles to provide for her family's basic needs. She says, "I’ve built a stable life." Her success has made her a real-life example of a winner in her community.

በምስራቅ ቦረና ዞን የአክሽን ፎር ዴቨሎፕመንት (AFD) እና የዌልት ሀንግር ሂልፌ (WHH) ጥምረት 990 ሴቶችን በ60 የቁጠባ እና ብድር ማህበራት በማደራጀት፣ መሰረታዊ ፍላጎታቸዉን ለማሟላት የነበረባቸዉን የኢኮኖሚ ችግር ወደ ጥንካሬና ስኬት ታሪክ ቀይሮታል። እነዚህ ሴቶች ከ5.1 ሚሊዮን ብር በላይ መቆጠብ የቻሉ ሲሆን፣ የተለያዩ አነስተኛ ንግዶችን በመጀመር የተሻሻሉ ቤቶች እና እንደቤት እንስሳት ያሉ የሀብት ንብረቶችን ማፍራት ችለዋል። ይህ ፕሮጀክት ከገንዘብ ስኬት ባለፈ፣ ጠንካራ ማህበራዊ ትስስር እንዲፈጥሩ እና በማህበረሰባቸው ውስጥ ዘላቂ ለውጥ ለማምጣት የሚያስችል በራስ መተማመን እንዲገነቡ ረድቷቸዋል።

By empowering 990 women through 60 Savings and Loan Cooperatives, the AFD and WHH partnership has turned the difficulty to make ends meet into a story of resilience in East Borena. These women have mobilized over 5.1 million ETB in savings, started small businesses, and secured essential assets like improved housing and livestock. Beyond financial success, the project has fostered powerful social bonds and the confidence to drive long lasting change in their communities.

Meet Nasru: The student proving that determination has no limits.

Born with a physical disability in East Bale, Nasru Safi’s life began in isolation. Fear of stigma led his family to keep him hidden, believing school was an impossibility.

Everything changed when Action For Development (AFD) stepped in. Through the collaborative efforts to dismantle the stigmas, scholastic support and a donated wheelchair, the barriers of shame were replaced by opportunity. Nasru didn't just join a classroom—he conquered it. By Grade 2, he ranked 1st out of 66 students!

Today, Nasru is a thriving Grade 3 student, proving that disability is not inability. His journey is a powerful reminder that with the right support, every child can shine.

ከጥቃት የተረፉ ሴቶች የሚያስፈልጋቸዉ ፍርድ ወይም ወቀሳ ሳይሆን፤ ደህንነት፣ ርህራሄ እና ፍትህ ነው፡፡
አንዲት ሴት ስለደረሰባት ጥቃት ስትናገር፣ እያሳየች ያለችው ከፍተኛ የሆነ ጀግንነት ነው። ድምጽዋ ይሰማ፡፡

The abuse begins with glaring at the woman, and with words of criticism and insult thrown at her.
Her voice has value — Women who have been attacked seek true justice. What women who survive abuse need is safety, compassion, and justice, not judgment or blame.

When a woman speaks out about the abuse she suffered, she is demonstrating great courage. Let her voice be heard.

በአለም አቀፍ ደረጃ ከ3 ሴቶች አንዷ በህይወት ዘመኗ ፆታዊ ጥቃት ይገጥማታል:: በድህነት፣ የሰብዓዊ ቀዉስ በሚከሰትበት ሁኔታ እንዲሁም ለአየር ንብረት ለዉጥ ተፅዕኖ ተጋላጭ በሆኑ ሁኔታዎች ዉስጥ ፆታዊ ጥቃት በከፍተኛ ሁኔታ ይጨምራል፡፡
ሴቶች ፆታዊ ጥቃት ከደረሰባቸዉ በኋላ የሚገጥማቸዉ የደህንነት ስጋት፣ የፍትህ እጦትና ተያያዥ ተፅዕኖዎች ከህመማቸዉ የማገገም ሁኔታ ላይ እክል ይፈጥርባቸዋል፡፡

Her Dignity, Our Responsibility
Worldwide, one in three women experience sexual or physical violence in her lifetime. Sexual violence increases significantly in conditions of poverty, humanitarian crises, and vulnerability to the impacts of climate change.
After experiencing sexual violence, the safety risks, lack of justice, and related impacts that women face hinder their recovery from the trauma.
Action for Development has joined the 16 Days of Activism, strongly opposing gender-based violence. Let us stand against narratives that trivialize violence against women.

አክሽን ፎር ዴቨሎፕመንት ከፕላን ኢንተርናሽናል ጋር በመተባበር በኦሮሚያ ክልል ምስራቅ ቦረና ዞን ጎሮ ዶላ ወረዳ ያለዉን ከፍተኛ የሆነ የተመጣጠነ ምግብ እጥረት ለመቀነስ ያለመ የፕሮጀክት ስምምነት አድርገዋል፡፡

ከተባበሩት መንግስታት የሰብዓዊ ጉዳዮች ማስተባበሪያ ቢሮ (OCHA) በተገኘ የገንዘብ ድጋፍ የሚተገበረዉ ፕሮጀክቱ ስነ ምግብ፣ ጤና፣ ንፁህ መጠጥ ዉሀና ንፅህና እንዲሁም ግብርናን አጣምሮ በመተግበር በዞኑ ያለዉን ከፍተኛ የተመጣጠነ ምግብ እጥረት በመቀነስ የማህበረሰቡን ጤናና ደህንነት ለማሻሻል የሚሰራ ይሆናል፡፡

የፕሮጀክቱን ትግበራ ለመጀመር አክሽን ፎር ዴቨሎፕመንት በነጌሌ ከተማ አዲስ የፊልድ ማስተባበሪያ ቢሮ በመክፈት ሂደት ላይ ይገኛል፡፡

Action For Development (AFD) and its partner, Plan International Ethiopia (PIE), have joined hands to combat severe malnutrition in the Goro Dola Woreda of the East Borana Zone, in Oromia Region.

The project, funded by the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), will address the high rates of malnutrition in the area through a multi-sectoral approach that will integrate four key areas to create a comprehensive strategy: Nutrition, Health, WASH, and Agriculture.

This collaborative project is expected to significantly reduce malnutrition rates and improve the health and well-being
of the community in Goro Dola Woreda. AFD is in the process of opening a new field coordination office to be based in
Negele town, for the facilitation of the project.
