Interdisciplinary Forum on Environment - IFoE

The production of this Compendium and website was prompted in large part by a desire to encourage the public to engage in environmental management endeavors.

In order to do so, the public must first be familiar with the laws that stipulate their rights and duties in such matters. Work on the Compendium began over three years ago, towards the end of 2013, with intensive research on environmental law, following which commenced the collection of Ethiopian laws in relation to the environment. Accordingly, the decision to include the laws in the Compendium was made solely based on the research that had already been undertaken at the outset.
