Eastern Plantain-eater — a striking and vocal bird found across Ethiopia’s woodlands and Rift Valley landscapes.
I photographed this amazing species near Lake Ziway, together with Henok Photography — an unforgettable off-the-beaten-track moment with the best bird photography team.

This bird is known for its bold yellow bill, dark crest, and long tail.
They live in wooded areas, farms, and lakeside forests, feeding mainly on fruits, berries, and plantains.
Male and female look similar, both active, social, and often calling loudly from treetops — a true character of Ethiopia’s birdlife.
