CUT DOWN on sth - reduce the amount of something you consume, use or do

🗣 I’ve been trying to cut down on coffee. I wouldn’t completely stop drinking it, just less and less.
🗣 You should cut down on social media, it’s ruining your life.

CUT BACK on sth - reduces the amount of something, especially your expenditure

🗣 We have to cut back on our spending.
🗣 I’ve cut back on clothes shopping.

CUT sth OUT - completely eliminate something from your diet, habits, routine

🗣 First, I cut down on meat and then I cut it out.
🗣 Cutting out dairy is all but impossible.
