Our New Christa rocket is ready! 🚀

At Cosmic Research, we’ve been working on this project for months and we’re thrilled to announce that the manufacturing and testing phase is now complete.

New Christa is an upgraded version of the original Christa, offering improved reusability and reliability. 📈

Its main mission is to act as a Cansat launcher, capable of carrying up to six payloads.
This milestone reflects the dedication, teamwork, and engineering effort behind every detail of the rocket.

At Cosmic Research we’re proud to give you a sneak peak at Lovelace, the board that will command the improved version of our CanSat carrier rocket: New Christa.🚀

In comparison to the previous board, this design is made entirely in-house. In addition, it incorporates a series of redundant systems to ensure that both the rocket and mission are always in good hands.🌟

But why Lovelace?

Ada Lovelace was an English mathematician and visionary from the nineteenth century to whom it is attributed the creation of the first computer program, making her a pioneer in the world of computing.👩‍💻 We wanted to pay her this small tribute by immortalizing her name in our project as a way to continue inspiring future generations, just like she did.💡

Today we recognize and celebrate the incredible women of our team who contribute their talent, dedication, and passion to every stage of our projects, from design and simulations to testing and launches. 🔧

🚀 This past weekend we launched our newest rocket along with Spain Rocketry. Named Weber after the astronaut and chemist Mary Ellen Weber, who took part in two Shuttle missions and many discoveries in the materials field. 👩🏻‍🚀🔬

Weber was developed in three distinct variants, each crafted to collect critical flight data for validating our in-house flight simulator, Gladys 🎯. More than just a testbed, Weber provided our newest team members with hands-on experience in both rocket design and real-world launch operation. 🛠

All the mission objectives were achieved, as the data was successfully recovered and we are eager to see the results of the improved simulator in future launches!! ✅️🌌

Another edition of SURTAM comes to a close!!

The past 7th, 8th and 9th of May we were honored to participate in the 3rd edition of the Spanish University Rocketry Teams Annual Meeting in Madrid hosted at ETSIAE, an event we have attended since its first edition. ✨🌌

We had the opportunity to meet with people from the other teams, catch up with them and exchange information and experiences in an environment of friendly competition. We also learned a lot from the many presentations, round tables and workshops. We took the opportunity to explain our experience at Spaceport America Cup 2024 with our latest and most ambitious rocket yet, Lucid.🌠🚀

It is always a pleasure to see the progress of the other teams as well as see new ones being created all around the country!!
