Wine Experience

This year's harvest came earlier than usual, the Grenache grapes are ready to be handpicked.

A perfect family day tour to the Priorat region- this time with high quality olive oil sampling and slow food lunch!

Summer is almost here so yesterday we made a small group garden wine tasting. With reds from Penedés, Terra Alta, Montsant, Ribera del Duero and Rioja. Great atmosphere!

Just checked out one very special guest from Mexico- German Ortega. A painter who came from Paris to stay a few days in Tarragona in our 1st floor apartment in old town (Plaça Forum- Terram) before heading to Seville. He left this lovely copy for me signed by him and dedicated to me. Best start of the day!

Started the day at bodegas Torres. The vines are really green at this time of year and the grapes starting to grow. Now heading for smaller cava producer for a bubbly moment.

Yesterday I had the honour to receive some old hidden wine bottles from a friend who bought a house and the owner left his wine collection in the cellar. Very interesting to taste a >30 years old Rene Barbier! The cork was in a surprisingly good shape. The colour was clearly towards orange/brownish tones. We were struck by the metal, reduced aromas at first that later turned into some discrete fruitiness. After decanting and several hours later the wine was still developing more soft fruity hints. Absolutely interesting!
