Root trata de mirar atrás, hacia ese modelo original. Root reivindica la música atemporal arreglada artísticamente. Root trata devolver al DJ a su lugar adecuado como cuentacuentos, dandole las herramientas que se han demostrado funcionan mejor. Once upon a time in underground music, long before social networks and the millions of subgenres had fractured the dance music landscape, people got together in dark spaces and places with enormous sound systems and they danced. And it was about the crowd. A lot of times it didn't even matter who the DJ was; people would just go and allow themselves to be surprised by the one or two residents and an occasional guest. The view from the booth was different. The years DJs spent honing their skills allowed them to develop a particular style and aesthetic and to curate a very personal collection of songs with which to work. They knew their materials and they had much bigger canvases to work with. Instead of five DJs in a single night there were one or two who played for five hours or more. What resulted wasn't always better, but it often was--and when it was better, it was much, much better. Each night was an adventure of discovery, and a unique story. Root is about going back to that original model. Root is about timeless music artfully arranged. Root is about putting the DJ back in his proper place as storyteller, and giving him the tools that have been proven to work best. Root is about exploration and adventure, about a partnership between the crowd and the DJ through sound. Root is about getting back to basics, back to our roots.
