‘Dog Training Breakfast Club’ at La Chickeria.

Saturday 27th November. 10:00-12:00pm.

An obedience dog class, served with breakfast, tea, and coffee!

The aim of the class is to either learn, or spruce up your dog’s restaurant etiquette. You will have individual breakout sessions with me, breakfast & hot drinks, and can chat amongst yourselves about everyone’s favourite topic… doggos!

DOES YOUR DOG HAVE LEASH REACTIVITY?

Perhaps you have the perfect calm dog inside, and a small dinosaur outside on-leash? Or maybe your dog is an overthinker/fearful and reacts to anything that comes her/his way?

First thing first, don't stress! We have a reactivity guide on hand and can provide experienced guidance that WILL help.

- Refer to the below guide whenever you approach a trigger that makes your dog reactive.

- The ideal place at all times is in the GREEN zone, if you are getting into other zones then you are TOO CLOSE to the trigger.

- You then need to increase the distance to the trigger. This is the only way to effectively change your dog's response in the long run.

- Remember, set yourself up for success on every walk. If you already know you're going to fail, reassess, and walk in a low distraction area. Measure your distance, and test it out. Work with what you have, and slowly get closer.

- Don't give up hope! We understand reactivity is not fun for anyone, but if you can positively show your dog how to be happy and calm, they will willing accept it!

So, what does the class involve?​
- Basic 7 commands: Sit, Stay, Down, Heel, No, Leave and Come
- Respectful introduction to other dogs and people
- On/off-leash walking
- Recall (with & without distractions)
- Obedience Tricks

​Do you have to commit every week?​
- No, not necessarily. There is no upfront cost commitment to join every week. But, It is strongly advised to personally commit to your dog's progress, and we can assure you will personally love it!

The class will run every week - on a 6 week training schedule, but you can join whenever you like.

Little Birdy here has recently moved into her gorgeous Ibiza home, however was struggling letting her parents have a good time outside the house without him! The separation anxiety is real...
So how have we been managing this?

It's quite simple: CRATE TRAINING, CONSISTENCY & POSITIVE reinforcement.

Slowly but surely, Birdy is warming to her crate which provides her with security, a safe space and reduces anxiety or stress.

Consistent positive reinforcement throughout daily routines, desensitisation to leaving the house ques (picking up keys, putting on shoes) and patience is really helping Birdy overcome her struggles!

It's also important for us as handlers to reward efficiently to overcome these situations! Separation anxiety is not to be rushed when training, as one step forward too quickly can be ruined instantly!

Well done to Birdy's parents for doing so well! The journey continues...

IBIZA TRAINING Hey ihr Lieben, Da Birdy momentan “Probleme hat” wird hier in Ibiza fleissig trainiert:-) wir haben eine ganz liebe Trainerin gefunden und freuen uns über erste Fortschritte. Wir haben früher mal mit einem “Käfig” oder Box trainiert und da hat das gar nicht funktioniert. Doch jetzt siehe da, wir sind erstaunt wie toll Birdy es findet und von selbst hineingeht und ihr “kleines sicheres reich” mag♥️🙏🏻 Danke an @duplidog und auf weitere Erfolge! Natûrlich habe ich in Mûnchen auch eine tolle Trainerin, aber eben nicht hier :-) Momentan sind wir auch nicht so aktiv hier unterwegs..:-( Aber wir haben wirklich viel um die Ohren! Excellent puppy class last night! All the dogs were very good, lots of learning and takeaways for all. Basic obedience, but still fun!
