Over the next few months, every fundraising milestone will unlock a special surprise from our journey over the past decade. Each time we reach a goal, we'll reveal what's hidden behind it and announce the next challenge!

For our 16th Career Day, we were delighted to welcome Jana and Marion, who shared a fascinating look into the innovative and ever‑evolving world of computer science engineering; and Clara, who offered a glimpse into the strategic and collaborative field of business project management.

Career Day continues to spark curiosity, build confidence, and connect young minds with inspiring, real‑world careers.

«Habibi Center is a very welcoming place to come teach. You will immediately feel part of the group and treated as a trusted colleague. Taking advantage of your time in Athens is promoted, but at the same time, teaching is taken seriously and is the communal focus. The students come from different places and situations and are all motivated to learn, as they choose to be here on top of their regular school and work obligations. Relationships with the students develop quickly in small classes 5x a week, you feel their trust in you and it propels you in your efforts. They call you “teacher”, a title they give you and one you will want to live up to. John»

10 years ❤️

It’s hard to believe that the Habibi Center community began back in 2016. Over the years, so many students, teachers, volunteers, interns, and friends have walked through our doors, shared classrooms, built friendships, supported one another, and helped shape what the Habibi Center is today.

This August, we want to bring that community back together.

If you were ever part of the Habibi Center, whether for a few weeks or for many years, we would love to see you in Athens for our 10th Anniversary Reunion on August 8, 2026.

We’re hoping to gather as many former students and teachers as possible to celebrate the memories, the growth, and the incredible community we’ve built together over the last decade.

«This was my first time volunteering at the Habibi Center and I really had no idea of what I would find at this tiny school hidden away behind the market in the centre of Athens. What I found was a highly organised and conscientious organisation where the staff took the responsibility of educating the students very seriously. This was an organisation that really cared about the well-being of the students and had thought in great detail of their needs, offering games nights, careers nights, computer courses, exam preparation all within a safe and caring family environment. But for me, getting to know the students was the highlight of my experience. Polite, motivated, bright young people with so much to offer the world. It was a privilege to spend time with them and, I hope, move them forward one small step in their lives. I miss them to this day. Georgina»
