and instructor caught up with the safety team at Badajoz Airport this week, who reported all clear on the wing!

Birds of prey are commonly used across Spanish airports to reduce bird strike risk, as their presence tiggers an instinctive fear in other birds, creating a "no-fly zone" around aircraft operations.

The birds work alongside other tools such as vehicles, sounds and sometimes drones, and are part of a broader wildlife management programme used by Aena airports in Spain, combining safety and environmental control.
