La iniciativa busca impulsar proyectos de I+D+i, fortalecer la competitividad de las pymes y acelerar la transición hacia un modelo industrial más eficiente, conectado y descarbonizado. Además, la electrificación se consolida como uno de los pilares estratégicos para la movilidad y la industria del futuro.

Spain’s Ministry of Industry and Tourism has announced a new €9 million funding programme for Innovative Business Groups (AEIs), strengthening the role of business clusters as drivers of transformation, digitalization, and sustainability.

The initiative aims to support R&D&I projects, enhance SME competitiveness, and accelerate the transition towards a more efficient, connected, and low-carbon industrial model. At the same time, electrification continues to establish itself as a strategic pillar for the future of both mobility and industry.

Los ganadores de la fase provincial tendrán la oportunidad de competir en la final nacional que se celebrará en el marco de MATELEC 2026.

Más allá de la competición, este certamen acerca a los jóvenes al entorno profesional, fomenta las habilidades técnicas y contribuye a visibilizar el papel esencial de los instaladores en la transformación energética y digital.

The winners of the regional stage will go on to compete in the national final at MATELEC 2026.

Beyond the competition itself, the initiative helps connect young professionals with the industry, strengthens technical skills, and showcases the vital role installers play in the energy and digital transformation.

⚡ Flexible access to the electricity grid is gaining momentum as a key tool to accelerate electrification and facilitate the integration of new demand.

Six industry associations have reached a framework agreement to promote flexible access permits for distribution networks, a solution that will help optimise available capacity, respond to the growing number of industrial and storage projects, and move towards a more efficient and dynamic electricity system, without waiting for new infrastructure and industrial projects in an environment marked by congestion in certain grid nodes. This approach addresses the challenges of electrification and the energy transition.
