It’s been a while since I posted, lately I have been immersed in the study of Proto Indo-European language and the meaning underneath our current words. I would like to share some fragments of poetry which I have been writing , I hope you enjoy it and take the time to look at each word as a container of its own history…

La suerte, habida cuenta,
por decreto ha de asumir.
La fortuna, cual ofrenda,
grave gesta es de regir.
Ante el destino ha de estar,
con rigor en existir.

juran los severos hados,
ya fatídicos sus laudos.
Sea así el sino sellado.

Cual don, la vida se ha dado,
y tras el óbito, el dado;
leyenda honesta ha de quedar,
pues solo en la muerte hay azar.

Acedia

Está pieza es parte de una pequeña maqueta que representa los siete pecados capitales.
La Acedia en latín se traduce como pereza pero con la traducción se pierde la esencia del significado, siendo la pereza una simplificación infantil del significado original.
La Acedia tiene más que ver con la falta de amor hacia uno mismo y por consecuencia a la creación de Dios. La pereza es solo un síntoma de la Acedia.
Mi objetivo con esta maqueta inicial es personificar estos pecados y profundizar en su significado. Este es solo el primero de varios intentos que están por llegar de dar cuerpo a este proyecto.

Acedia

This piece is part of a small model that represents the seven deadly sins. Acedia in Latin is translated as sloth but with the translation the essence of the meaning is lost, sloth being a childish simplification of the original meaning. Acedia has more to do with the lack of love towards oneself and consequently towards God's creation. Sloth is just one symptom of Acedia. My goal with this initial mockup is to personify these sins and delve deeper into their meaning. This is only the first of several attempts to come to flesh out this project.
