It’s nearly 3 weeks post discectomy surgery for a severely herniated disc which caused some nerve damage to my left foot, hopefully temporary…

Apart from a dragging foot and some discomfort when I sit up or down I feel so much better than I have for the last two years. You don’t realise how much pain you’re in day to day until it goes away. My only regret is waiting this long to have the surgery and potentially having permanent nerve damage. But we will see, it’s early days.

What it does mean is that I’m starting near the beginning of my fitness journey all over again. My body fat % is the highest it’s been since having babies, my muscle mass the lowest, biological age at over 50 (I’m 47 😫) and HRV embarrassingly low. But that means there’s only one way this can go.

Yesterday was World Pilates Day. Here’s a throwback to 30 May 2018 when I was in the best shape of my life, practising daily yoga, running 32km a week, having 2 personal Pilates sessions with Andy a week (I miss you Andy!), a personal weight session and a personal yoga session. Despite my career crashing around me, physically I felt great and looked great. Time to get back to that 💪🏼

Now to find an “Andy” near me. Big boots to fill.

Hello! I’ve never had the chance to introduce myself since I bought Mirelle from the lovely Mirelle in 2017 with the goal of building a global athleisurewear brand. But life got in the way and I’ve left this go by the wayside.

Life has thrown me another curve ball but this time I’m determined to pick myself up and take EDER forward. More later.
