HAPPY FRIDAY!

Hope you’ve all had a good week. I’m still waiting for that heatwave…🥱🌞 Been busy prepping all the tie dyes so next week keep your eyes peeled as they all start arriving!!

What do you see first??

I see 👉 A leg. A woman’s leg. A human leg.

It really is that simple 😂 Why are our expectations of what a human leg should look like all the same?? Sometimes I feel like we’re all striving to look like genetically modified versions of a human 🐑🐑🐑🐑 We see normal human traits as “flaws” which is insane. But where is the individuality in that?

We spend forever wanting to not look like ourselves. Buying products to change things we’ve been taught to notice and despise. But believe me there is PLENTY to admire about yourself beyond how smooth your legs are or whether you have stretch marks or not.

I spent years at school feeling different until I realised that was an attribute in itself. And now I’m proud of the things that could be considered “flaws” 🙄🥱

Wanted to share this pic with you lovely lot to show you one of my favourite ways to spend my downtime. A few months ago I was so exhausted, burnt out and lacking in all self esteem this photo wouldn’t have even been possible, I couldn’t even face getting my paints out. But Colour has been my THERAPY. First I had to force myself to rest, followed by doing things that bring back to me, without any expectation to be “good” or “sellable”. Just playing around and letting myself have a moment of mental peace while being immersed in something!

FOLLOW YOUR BLISS has been my mantra this year (can’t wait to show you what product with this mantra is coming soon!)

If it’s a business idea or a new way of life, sometimes things can feel too overwhelming or impossible, so just start somewhere. Even if it’s just research or pulling mood boards together. What can you do to move closer towards that idea? Perhaps you need to have an honest conversation with someone and get it off your chest. Or maybe it’s simply sitting down and being really honest with yourself.⁠

We need to stop trying to “fix” women’s appearances because all it promotes is that outward perfection is the only ideal. It makes girls/women feel that the only way to be accepted or loved or valued by society (of all genders) is by fixing ourselves until we have no flaws. Newsflash, unless we all look exactly the same or were genetically modified, we’re all going to have differences—> that to some are flaws but to others are beautiful qualities we cherish and admire (these are the people whose opinions you should care about)

Message of the day: love yourself for who you are and the unique life journey your body represents 💗🥰🐆

🤝SISTERS 🤝

It was girls, not boys that made me feel different or judged at school… We talk about the patriarchy being against us but really what’s worse, is that it has turned us on each other. Taught us to judge and value each other over the wrong attributes.

I shout as loud as I can about sisterhood because when all on each other’s side we are SO strong and powerful. We are incredible communicators, we discuss things from every angle, we can feel safe sharing our vulnerabilities with each other, we want to help with advice and support and we are so good at rooting for each other! But Imagine if we did that on a global scale?! What if sisterhood was not exclusive of colour, class, birth place, sexuality or religion or anything that looses sight of our humanity.

👉👉You don’t need to be perfectly groomed to be worthy and valuable, that is a virtue bestowed on us by the male gaze that profits from our insecurities (hugely profiting industries including beauty, hair removal, plastic surgery, a**l bleaching ffs 😂)

So here’s to coming together, having each other’s backs, raising each other up, helping each other to grow and changing this goddamn world to value and support us 🤝💪
