Greening has completed the sale of a portfolio of industrial solar assets under development in California and Virginia to an international energy investor, marking the company’s asset rotation under its 2026–2030 Strategic Plan.
The projects, backed by long-term onsite PPAs with a leading international food packaging group, will generate more than 3,285 MWh annually. As part of the agreement, GreenSol, Greening’s U.S. EPC platform, will continue executing the construction of both projects.
This transaction reinforces our positioning in the U.S. market and reflects our ability to develop, execute and monetize high-quality renewable assets in strategic markets.
We continue building New Greening.

Yesterday at Solar & Storage Live España 2026, our colleagues Pablo Otin y Ignacio Salcedo took part in two key discussions on the future of the energy system.
Pablo, CEO of Greening, joined the panel on rebuilding trust after the 2025 blackout, highlighting the critical role of large-scale storage and hybridisation as foundations for a more stable, resilient and secure grid.
Meanwhile, Ignacio, Executive Chairman of Greening, spoke about the role of leadership in energy security, emphasizing people, teams and responsible decision-making as key drivers of the energy transition.
Two complementary perspectives on a shared challenge: building a safer and more robust energy system.
Energy cannot be created or destroyed; it can only be transformed. And so are we.
Welcome to a new phase of Greening. We are evolving. We are transforming. More efficient. This is New Greening.

The Draft Royal Decree to promote biomethane, currently under public consultation, begins to define how the mandatory biomethane pe*******on targets established in Article 26 of RDL 7/2026 will be applied within the Spanish gas system.
The message is clear: biomethane is no longer viewed as a complementary technology, but as a structural pillar of energy decarbonization. The proposal sets mandatory incorporation targets beyond transport:
• 0.5% by 2028
• 1.8% by 2030
• 6% by 2035
Applied to current gas demand (excluding combined cycle plants, cogeneration and transport), this could mean biomethane demand reaching nearly 12 TWh by 2035.
For context, transactions on the guarantees of origin platform barely exceeded 2 TWh in 2025. The question is no longer whether the sector will grow, but who will be able to deliver viable projects under this new framework.
The Royal Decree not only establishes quotas, but also key market rules:
• Social, territorial and environmental excellence labels as requirements for new plants.
• Regulated remuneration for injection infrastructure and reverse flow equipment.
• Mandatory transfer of direct connection lines to transporters or distributors.
• A stricter supervision framework, where failing to meet quotas becomes a very serious infringement.
At Greening, we have long worked under this approach: developing projects integrated into local environments, collaborating with farmers, cooperatives and industries, and applying the best available technologies to maximize efficiency and sustainability.
Because the future of biomethane will depend not only on producing renewable gas, but on developing robust, locally integrated projects aligned with new regulatory and social requirements.
