Upon returning from Spain I created this abstract painting with layered shades of deep Mediterranean blue, intersected by fluid silver lines that weave like winding streets through a Spanish coastal town. Geometric planes of warm terracotta, soft sky blue, and sunlit gold peek through the composition, echoing the tiled façades, ancient stonework, and bright market awnings encountered while traveling through Spain. Small pops of red-orange recall the citrus fruits and festive energy of plazas at sunset. The energetic yet harmonious flow of the piece mirrors the rhythm of wandering through narrow alleys, hearing snippets of music, and feeling the interplay of history and modern life. The work captures lingering impressions—sun-washed colors, architectural forms, and the joyful chaos of a journey still humming in memory.

What do you see in it first?

Continuing on this direction of deconstructionism, expressionism and bw. The shapes take on their own atmospheric value as they float in the negative space and combine to form a cohesive composition. There’s a rawness that is conveyed through precise clean cuts and a process that feels meditative.
