Official College of Private Detectives of Catalonia

The COPCAT will denounce those who attempt against the good name of private detectives. The Official College of Private Detectives regrets the distorted image that has been lately spread about its members.

Due to the latest news which link private detectives with alleged spying activities and to the last statements published by the media, the CODPCAT announces that it will start taking legal action against the authors of any non-contrasted information that may cause any harm to its members.

Finally, the CODPCAT wants to remind that the practice of private detectives is regulated by the Ministry of the Interior within the framework of the law. Any irregular practice of the profession must be investigated by the judiciary, and presumption of innocence must be kept while the proceedings are in course. Private detectives are authorised to investigate individuals or legal entities as long as they are within the framework of the law.
