MedTech startup Eyedentity AB has closed its first oversubscribed investment round €1.3 million to expand their AI-powered diagnostics platform into opticians, eye clinics and hospitals 🇸🇪 👁

The round was led by Norrsken Launcher, with participation from the Karolinska Institutet Innovation and a group of angel investors.

Gustav Stålhammar, co-founder and CSO of Eyedentity, says: “A huge number of images are already taken at opticians, and there is a trend that opticians in particular are getting an increasingly large group of patients, for example people seeking help for vision problems, dry eyes or other problems.”

Limerick-based Redfaire lands €13 million from BGF to scale its ERP and cloud services business | EU-Startups 21/08/2026

Redfaire, a Limerick-based enterprise resource planning (ERP) and cloud services provider, has secured a €13 million minority investment from Ireland-based growth capital firm BGF. 🇮🇪 ☁️ 📈

The funding will back the company’s international expansion, ongoing service development and a targeted acquisition strategy. The round comes shortly after Redfaire’s acquisition of eKal Solutions, which adds established capabilities across human capital management, enterprise performance management, financials and supply chain management solutions.

“We built Redfaire by staying close to our customers and taking on their most complex ERP challenges. BGF’s investment is a strong endorsement of that work and of the team behind it. Their backing allows us to accelerate international expansion, further enhance our capabilities, and broaden our reach and expertise. HexSeed Technology, a carbon capture and utilisation (CCU) startup that transforms captured CO₂ into high-value supermaterials, has raised over €700k in early-stage funding. 🇬🇧 💎❄️

The funding was led by Carbon13, with participation from Net Zero Technology Centre and Vento Ventures. The cumulative investment also unlocks a Partnership Grant from Innovate UK, awarded on a provisional basis earlier this year.

“Data centres are on track to consume a significant share of UK grid capacity within the decade, and a large proportion of that energy is lost as heat in power conversion. This funding will allow us to take our low-temperature diamond coating technology which we are developing from laboratory demonstration to working GaN devices,” said Mark Tandy, CEO and co-founder of HexSeed.

ENPULSION, an Austrian manufacturer of spacecraft propulsion systems, has agreed to acquire 100% of the share capital of the UK-based chemical propulsion and tank design company, Me Off (LMO). 🇦🇹🇬🇧🚀 🛰️

The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, and completion of the transaction is subject to approval by the UK Government under the National Security and Investment Act 2021.

Antwerp-based Artwod, a guided learning and community platform for visual artists, has raised a €1.1 million Seed round to launch their creators’ marketplace, promote community participation, and build artist loyalty 🇧🇪 🎨

The round was raised with participation from Airbridge Equity Partners and ForsVC.

Pixelgen Technologies, a Stockholm-based company that claims to have developed the first high-throughput platform for mapping molecular cell architecture, has closed a €13.26 million Series B funding round. 🇸🇪 🔬 💊

The oversubscribed round was led by new investor Flat Capital AB, with continued participation from existing investors Industrifonden and Navigare Ventures. Alongside the financing, Pixelgen is adding Flat Capital CEO Rickard El Tarzi and life sciences veteran Ramon Felciano, Ph.D., to its board of directors.

“This financing gives us the resources to expand globally as demand grows for our Proxiome Kit and our data analysis and visualisation software. We’re proud to have Flat Capital join us and to have the continued confidence of Navigare and Industrifonden. London-based Callosum raises €85.4 million in Atomico-led Seed round to unify AI models and chips | EU-Startups 20/08/2026

Callosum, a London-based startup building infrastructure to unify different AI models and chips, has raised €85.4 million in a Seed round to advance what it calls “heterogeneous intelligence”. 🇬🇧 🧠 🤖

The round was led by Atomico, with significant participation from Plural, DCVC, and the UK Sovereign AI Fund, as well as other investors and angels. Callosum said the raise would help it “redefine how humanity computes for AI’s next chapter”.

“AI is nothing without the chips that underpin it – and the eye-watering demand for them is only going to grow. In the race to develop and use AI, success will depend not just on having access to those chips, but on using them as efficiently as possible,” said Kanishka Narayan MP, Minister for Artificial Intelligence, UK Government.

Guideless, a Vilnius-based AI-powered software training and operational knowledge platform, has raised a €1 million pre-Seed funding round to help companies create and maintain workflow training materials. 🇱🇹 🤖 🎥 📚

The round was led by Superhero Capital, with participation from FIRSTPICK VC and angel investors Thomas P. (Group CEO of Vinted), Vytautas A.čaitis (Vinted Go CEO), and Vinted co-founder Mantas Mikuckas.

Danish AI infrastructure startup Velatir secures €5 million six months after its pre-Seed round and official launch | EU-Startups 20/08/2026

Velatir, an Odense-based AI infrastructure startup, today announced it has secured €5 million in new funding to “triple down” on its European expansion and “compete for the best talent” in the region. 🇩🇰 🤖 🔐

According to the company, this round was completed in two weeks and was co-led by new investor Spintop Ventures and existing investor Ugly Duckling Ventures. Existing VC investors Norrsken Evolve and new angels Jan Oberhauser (n8n) and Thomas Visti (Universal Robots/MiR) also participated in this round. The Danish Export and Investment Fund, EIFO, provided a match loan.
