Quick question:
If you had to guess, who generates the most food waste in the EU?
🏠 Households?
🍽️ Restaurants and food services?
🏭 Food manufacturers?
🛒 Retail and supermarkets?
Most people would probably point to restaurants or supermarkets.
But according to the European Commission, households generate 53% of all food waste in the EU - more than restaurants (11%), retail and food distribution (8%), and even food manufacturing (19%).
Why? The Commission notes that food waste is often linked to everyday habits and circumstances, including purchasing patterns, confusion around date labels, lack of time, and limited awareness of how small actions add up.
Food waste isn't just something that happens in supermarkets or restaurant kitchens. A lot of it comes down to the small choices we make at home every day.
At Inhabitat MSc, students explore these kinds of challenges through the Waste Treatment module, examining how different waste streams are managed and how circular economy principles can help reduce environmental impacts and improve resource efficiency.

In the Ecolution MSc SUSOL Prague Thesis Communication Lab, we helped students turn their Master’s thesis topics into short research stories. 🌍
Together, we explored how campus spaces at the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague could reflect each student’s SUSOL experience, research journey, and contribution to sustainability.
Through Erasmus+ reflection, thesis pitching, and short video storytelling, students connected place, personal experience, and research communication in a creative and meaningful way.
Erasmus+ in action! Connecting places, people, and thesis journeys.
🌍 From campus spaces to thesis stories: Ecolution MSc in Prague!
During the Ecolution MSc SUSOL Prague Thesis Communication Lab, students chose unique spots on the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague campus that reflected their SUSOL experience and connected to their Master’s thesis topics.
The workshop opened in the spirit of Erasmus+, with students reflecting on Europe as a shared learning environment shaped by exchange, collaboration, and diverse perspectives. Through a symbolic country-card and yarn-network activity, students connected their Master’s thesis topics to people, places, values, challenges, and future directions.
Students then moved from reflection to creative research communication. Using the “ECOLUTION Lens” - different approaches to thinking about their master’s thesis - they developed thesis pitches and short video scripts before choosing unique spots on campus that reflected their SUSOL experience and connected meaningfully to their Master’s thesis topics.
These campus locations became part of their short thesis reels: not just as backgrounds, but as visual symbols of their research journey, academic motivation, and potential contribution to sustainable solutions.
The result was a powerful reminder that research communication is not only about explaining an idea. It is also about showing where that idea comes from, why it matters, and how it connects to a wider European learning journey.
A big thank you to the Ecolution MSc students, to the Coordinator, Czech University of Life Sciences Prague, for hosting these activities, Evolutionary Archetypes SL’s team for facilitating the communication lab, our partners at AgriWatch BV for joining our activities, and all partners involved in creating such an inspiring space for exchange, creativity, and research storytelling.

Creating a fear-free feedback loop is how we build confident, resilient creative communities across borders. Check out how Digicreate Empower is empowering young talent!
Feedback Without Fear: How Young Creatives Can Grow Through Peer Review
Feedback is an essential part of every creative process, but it should never feel like a barrier. In a healthy peer review system, comments are specific, respectful, and highly actionable. They allow a young creator to clearly understand what already works, what can be improved, and what the next version could become.
Through Digicreate Empower, we connect budding young creatives across several countries:
• Germany
• Spain
• Portugal
• Serbia
• Bosnia & Herzegovina
• Montenegro
In these digital and intercultural spaces, masterfully handling feedback teaches us how to listen closely, ask better questions, and respect diverse creative choices. A safe feedback culture is completely foundational for young people developing their unique voices within the cultural and creative industries.
Good feedback should help an idea grow, not make the creator smaller.

The European Commission’s emphasis on a "whole-school approach" perfectly mirrors what we have set out to achieve with Embrace Future.
As we reach our final month of the project, we look back at our mission: embedding emotional and social competencies deep within the school ecosystem. Creating a supportive environment where students feel safe and teachers feel supported is the only way forward for sustainable education.

As we enter the final month of the Embrace Future project, we are reflecting on what it truly takes to foster well-being at school.
According to the European Commission, positive mental health in education is about creating environments where students feel safe, valued, and equipped to manage their emotions and build supportive relationships. Yet, challenges like declining adolescent mental health and teacher burnout show that schools need more tools than ever before.
With Embrace Future, our mission has been to bring mental health directly into the classroom ecosystem. We believe that mental health deserves to be an active, core part of what young people learn every single day.
To achieve this, the EU highlights the importance of a "whole-school approach", viewing schools, families, and local communities as interconnected parts of an ecosystem that impacts the learner. Tackling complex issues like trauma, discrimination, and cyberbullying successfully means building active cooperation inside and outside the classroom gates.
By building emotional and social competencies early on, we can transform classrooms into places where both students and educators thrive. We are nearing the end of this project chapter, but the journey toward making mental health a foundational pillar in education continues!
