There’s something fascinating about the way humans instinctively wrap themselves when emotionally overwhelmed *self-hug*

Scarves. Shawls. Oversized knits.
Sleeves pulled over hands. Layers wrapped tightly around the body.

Research surrounding deep pressure stimulation suggests that gentle pressure and containment can help regulate the nervous system and create feelings of calm and safety. Which suddenly makes the emotional support scarf feel a LOT less dramatic ❤️‍🩹

Especially socially.

Because sometimes overstimulation makes people — myself included — just want to feel held

✨IN PURSUIT OF THE PARTY✨
Hosted by ALMA and Yasmina Nessim
Wednesday, 20th May 2026 @ 6:00PM

What we wear is often misunderstood and wildly underrated.

Think of the dress that made evenings magical.
Or the coat that carried you through storms, physical and otherwise.
The necklace that you wear like a crown.
Or the scent that transports and teleports you, heart and soul.

To celebrate the launch of The Pursuit of the Power-Suit, ALMA and Yasmina Nessim invite you to an evening exploring the emotional lives of the objects we surround ourselves with, and the quiet psychology behind why we choose them.

For one night only, a collective of designers, makers, and creatives from the fashion industry and beyond have been invited to interpret the themes of fashion psychology through their own craft. Through scent, texture, tableware, furniture, textiles, jewellery, food, and atmosphere, each piece invites you on the pursuit; however it speaks to you.

The location remains undisclosed for now.
Somewhere in Maadi, behind a door the city has not yet walked through.

Seats are intentionally limited and available via reservation only through ALMA (link in bio) 🔗 Come alone, or with someone whose style you’ve always admired.

“Honoured” doesn’t quite cover it, but it’s the closest word I have.

I’m incredibly proud to announce that I am part of the , a project that begins with ‘s menstrual underwear, and is en route to building something life-changing. A system of dignity, education, and community-lead empowerment through textiles.

At its core, Woven is exploring how textiles can be used as tools for autonomy, pride, and long-term wellbeing. While clothing in humanitarian contexts has traditionally been treated as a functional necessity, research increasingly shows that what we wear plays a significant role in shaping identity, confidence, and psychological stability.

As a project lead, my role within the initiative has been to bring a fashion psychology lens to the work, helping shape how these garments can support physical comfort, emotional wellbeing, self-trust, and a sense of safety. I’ve been on the ground, in conversation, listening, learning, and working alongside women whose insights are actively shaping what this becomes. Because it’s not about working for them, it’s about working *with* them. And I think that’s what stayed with me the most c:

So much of my work has always centred on how clothing can help people reconnect with themselves; move through shame, and rebuild confidence. To see those same ideas take shape in a way that is this tangible, this necessary, and this community-led…I still can’t quite believe I get to be a part of it 🥲

It feels like a very real extension of my purpose, in a way I could never believe. Even though I’m slightly in shock, I’m eternally grateful and incredibly excited for what’s to come ✨stay tuned✨

I moved to London in 2011, and without even realising it, I found my armour. Interviews, presentations, big moments — I always reached for . The cut, the fit, the colours, but really, it was the feeling. Confidence. Clarity. Power. It became my quiet ritual for showing up as the woman I was still becoming.

Fast forward to today. And I’m standing inside Theory’s Battersea Power Station store, speaking about fashion psychology, sharing my book, in a room full of people who believe in the power of clothing just as much as I always did.

Full. Circle 🔃

18-year-old me wouldn’t believe it.
But she’d recognise the feeling instantly. I guess in Theory, I’ve always been On The Pursuit 🥲🤍

In times like these, when pain and uncertainty fill my feed and my heart, the only thing I find myself gravitating towards are my local garments. Pieces that help me feel closer to my community, to my propel, to the world around me. And there is no other brand that brings me more joy than 🤍 through design and storytelling I feel connected to my most authentically Egyptian self, and the community around me.

Grab your local garment and pstyle it for you and your loved ones. And feel free to share, we all need all the inspo we can get c:

London, it’s finally happening!

Join me for an intimate evening at Theory Battersea Power Station as we explore The Pursuit of the Power-Suit — where psychology meets personal style, and getting dressed becomes something far more powerful than just putting on clothes. All with the help of Theory’s glorious new Evergreen Collection 🤍

We’ll talk about why what you wear shapes how you think, feel, and move through the world — and how style can become a tool for clarity, confidence, and self-expression.

After the talk, stay for drinks, conversation, and a private shopping evening with an exclusive one-night-only discount at Theory.

📆Tuesday 17 March 6–8pm
📍Theory, Battersea Power Station
