Egyptian government is really good in ruining tradition, showing disrespect and destroying Bedouin way of life, cementaries, lands and houses. In creating horrendous new developments without any concern or thoughts what irreversible, horrifying consequences it may bring. For now probably further marginalisation of Bedouin tribes rights and role on Sinai, offering them low paid "jobs" at their own lands. St Catherine and the monastery were places of tranquility, ancient orchards and routes used for millenia. Connected with surrounding landscape, plants, animals and people for ages. Having no environmental protection policies whatsoever, they will built concrete shiny and loud desert now instead of one of the most unique, spiritual and irreplaceable places on Earth...
