تأسست في عام 2014، شركة ريد ستار هي شركة إنتاج مصرية حذت بخطوات ثابتة نحو تجسير الفجوة بين الأفلام المستقلة والأفلام التجارية. بتوجه دائما ما ينحاز للابتكار في مواجهة الربح المضمون، نحن نفخر بتأسيس مكانة خاصة ككيان مختلف، غير منصاع. فنحن نسعى على الدوام الى دفع حدود املاءات السوق المحلي والثقافة السائدة التي تأتي معها . عبر تقديم كتاب سيناريو ومخرجين جدد والتعامل مع موضوعات مثيرة للجدل، مشينا في طريق تعلمنا منه الكثير. بحصيلة 18 فيلم و60 جائزة من مهرجانات عالمية، تمكنا من خلق بيئة داعمة لرؤى وطموحات صناع السينما الشباب بظهير من صناع السينما الأكثر خبرة وتمرس. في السنوات الأخيرة، تسعى شركة ريد ستار الى دفع الحدود المحلية الى أبعد مما سبق، عبر المشاركة في إنتاج أفلام عراقية وسودانية وسورية وفلسطينية وسعودية. بالتوجه لجمهور أوسع عبر تأمل الديناميكيات الاجتماعية لثقافات مختلفة، نأمل أن نسلط الضوء على تقاطع أشكال التمييز. هناك عدد لا يحصى من القصص التي تستحق أن تروى، ونحن نحاول أن نلعب دورا تراكميا في عملية السرد المعقدة هذه. نسعى الى العمل جنبا الى جنب مع جميع المهتمين بما يطلق عليه الجنوب العالمي ومع كل المؤمنين بأن هناك قضايا عابرة للقوميات أيا كان شكلها الخارجي. Founded in 2014, Red Star Films, is an Egyptian company that took solid steps towards bridging the gap between independent and commercial films with an outlook that constantly chooses innovation over guaranteed profit, we take pride in establishing a reputation for being a non-conforming entity, constantly pushing the dictates of the local market and the mainstream culture that goes with it. Propping first time script writers and directors and dealing with controversial topics has been the path we learned a lot from. With a repertoire of 18 films reaping 60 awards from various international film festivals, we created a milieu in which young filmmakers put forth and exhibit their own distinctive visions with the support of more experienced cast and crew members. In recent years, Red Star Films has been pushing the local boundaries further, co-producing Iraqi, Sudanese, Syrian, Palestinian and Saudi films. In appealing to a wider audience through creatively reflecting on the social dynamics of various cultures, we hope to shed light on intersectionality. There is an infinite amount of stories that need to be told and we try to play an accumulative role in that intricate process. We seek to work alongside people who are interested in the Global South and who believe that certain issues are transnational whatever color they take.
