NEW EXHIBITION OPENING!
‘where two oceans meet’, a solo exhibition by Ibrahim Ahmed curated by Ahmed Shawky Hassan.
🗓️ Wednesday 1st April, 2026
🕧 6-8pm

We are thrilled to announce the opening of Ibrahim Ahmed’s second solo exhibition at TINTERA. Curated by Ahmed Shawky Hassan ‘where two oceans meet’, reorients Ahmed’s work within the space of the gallery. New collages from Ahmed’s ongoing exploration of masculinity are released from their traditional framed position on the wall inviting viewers to move around it and and encounter it from shifting perspectives. Meaning emerges gradually through movement, time and the body, making viewing both a physical and reflective experience.

‘Painted Oasis’, a solo exhibition by Finnish artist Nanna Hänninen at TINTERA.

‘Using photography as my medium I’m fascinated on how to transform the images through a process of staining, painting and varnishing the photos to create my own unique platform. When painting on photographs color becomes its own language of emotion and memory — fog turns red, shadows blue and light turns yellow. The tones of ancient Egypt — gold, blue, ochre — now infuse within my work, speaking of both life and death, mourning and hope.’

From ‘Painted Oasis’, a solo exhibition by Nanna Hänninen now on at TINTERA.

“My process begins with extended journeys to remote landscapes, often between the oasis and the desert — places “in between”. My latest journey took me to Egypt — from the vibrant density of Cairo with its ancient pyramids to the stillness of the Siwa Oasis, where the desert and life meet on a fragile edge.” Nanna Hänninen, 2025

We are thrilled to announce the opening of ‘Painted Oasis’, the first solo exhibition in Egypt by acclaimed Finnish artist Nanna Hänninen. This show marks the culmination of a three-week residency in Egypt last March, during which Hänninen traveled through Cairo, Fayoum, and Siwa, investigating the delicate and often fragile relationship between nature and humanity.
Nanna Hänninen, (b. 1973, Finland), is a Finnish photographic artist based in Kuopio. A key figure in the Helsinki School since the late 1990s Hänninen was among the first Finnish female artists to work conceptually with photography, using the medium to create large abstract images. Her early works from 2000-04 helped shape photography as a conceptual language, taking an ecological approach and examining how memory and association inform our understanding of the future. #

The exhibition will run 22 January - 19 March.

For information on available works and pricing please message us with your email.

Hänninen’s residency has been supported by the Finnish Cultural Foundation and Adrère Amellal, Siwa.

EXHIBITION CLOSING SUNDAY 11 JANUARY!
‘Cosmovision’, Lara Baladi’s solo show at TINTERA closes tomorrow. Don’t miss the chance to see this incredible exhibition that spans ten years of Baladi’s practice.

‘The exhibition is an unfolding of the artist’s aesthetic vocabulary. It charts a journey that reflects her ongoing exploration of image- making and the development of her visual language— a kind of alphabet that the viewer can trace throughout her career. The images are seamlessly integrated into the overall installation, many with her signature saturation of colour and embrace of excess. Cosmovision encapsulates Baladi’s artistic vision and her understanding of the
world’s inherent interconnectedness.’

We are open 11-7 on Saturday and 11-5 on Sunday. For available works please direct message us with your email.

Through her lens, fleeting moments of joy, of grief, of popular visual culture, and of human experience become enduring testaments to life’s intricate tapestry.’
