+ استشهاد القديس اليعازر وزوجته سالومى واولادهما
في مثل هذا اليوم استشهد القديسون التسعة : - أليعازر الشيخ وزوجته سالومي وأولادهما أبيم وأنطونيوس وعوزيا وأليعازر وأنيانا وسامونا ومركلوس . كان أليعازر أحد معلمي الشريعة اليهودية وكان أبوه أحد السبعين شيخا الذين ترجموا التوارة بأمر بطليموس ملك مصر وقد أدب أليعازر أولاده بعلوم الشريعة الموسوية .
ولما ملك أنطيوخس ملك الروم بلاد الشام وحاصر أورشليم استعمل القسوة مع الآمة اليهودية بمخالفة شريعة آبائهم بأن يأكلوا ما كان محرما عليهم مثل لحم الخنزير وغير ذلك فخاف كثيرون من سطوته وأطاعوه . أما هؤلاء الأبرار فقد ظلوا محافظين علي الشريعة المعطاة لهم من الله ، فعذبهم كثيرا بالضرب والصلب والحرق وتمشيط الجسم بأمشاط حديدية وكانت البارة سالومي تشجعهم إلى أن تنيحوا ثم ألقت هي أيضا نفسها في النار غير منتظره من يلقيها فيها وهكذا نال الجميع إكليل الشهادة .
