Community-Based Learning Program was established in 2006 as part of the American University in Cairo campus infrastructure to forward civic engagement and citizen scholarship. Gerhart Center for Philanthropy and Civic Engagement and the Center for Learning and Teaching.

Entrepreneurs (ages 18 to 35) from the Euro-Mediterranean region are encouraged to apply to Entrepreneurs for Social Change, a seven day training taking place in Torino, Italy, from 16 to 22 October 2014.
